It’s officially less than six months to Christmas, half of the year has gone past and it’s been a crazy one! I don’t think I’ve stopped this month, there’s always been something going on. I thought I would share with you what I’ve been loving over the course of June, as well as what I’ve been up to, I didn’t realise how much I’ve done until putting this post together.
First up, I was very kindly invited to the wedding of Jodie and Adam, I have worked with Jodie since I started at Sports Direct four years ago and we’ve always got along soo well. When I received the invite I was very honoured and couldn’t wait, especially with it being at Dartmoor Zoo! Perfect place for a wedding. I’ve never mingled with my colleagues outside of work, so it was nice especially with me moving this month.
It was a lovely evening and I enjoyed the night with my friends, before this it had been a while since I had some fun with someone other than the partner! Also why does time go really fast when you’re enjoying yourself, one minute it was seven o’clock, the next it was after ten! I loved meeting up with those who have recently left Sports Direct, it was nice to catch up with them. If I say so myself, I also scrub up pretty well.
During my second year at University of St Mark and St John, I helped produce a magazine called Sound, if you followed An Ocean Glimmer last year, you’ll know about this after my introduced to it in my podcast Work in Progress. It was a perfect experience as it felt like we were a real magazine, as we were producing our own content and had an editor.
It was such a success that they continued it for the current second year students, I was disappointed not to have a part to play because I enjoyed it so much. After a good experience delivering the magazine, I offered to deliver it again this year, meaning making new contentions with business owners. Everyone was soo welcoming and they all loved the magazine!
Even asking if there would be another issue, but of course, I had to explain how it would only be a Summer edition with the way it works out with our semesters. Now I’ve left university, I really hope they continue the magazine, but I wonder who will distribute them!! My lecturers even joked with me that I did such a good job, they would offer me a full-time job in distribution!
I absolutely love Car Show Season, pretty much either every weekend or every other weekend, I am travelling somewhere for a meet. This month, it was the turn of Modified Mania at Smeatharpe Stadium, this is my third year going to this show but this time around I was a little disappointed. Normally I go to all my shows with MG Rover South West Owners Club, but with not enough cars, I had to change stands.
I went with Pouts n Pistons, an all girl car club, I’ve never been with them before and I didn’t know many of the girls there. I feel because of this, it was harder to get along with them, I think I need to go to a couple more with them to get to know them a little better. The partner was with another car club, meaning I had the choice of two, I was with them a lot more, especially as I knew someone else with them.
Another factor the weather, ughh, it just wouldn’t make it’s mind up! One minute, rain, the next, wind, then the sun briefly came out, I did get sunburnt though, well I think it was more wind burn because the sun wasn’t out for that long. I suppose bad weather effects your feelings as well! I think I was also missing my MGRSWOC family, we always have a laugh and a giggle.
Now, you probably won’t believe this but during June, I’ve managed to catch up on a lot of stuff on Netflix! I know, you’re probably thinking but you’re out every day, well I’ve still managed it. I’ve been loving a couple of programs this month, including iZombie, Pretty Little Liars and Orange is the New Black. I know, I’m pretty late on the OITNB wagon but I’m here now and loving it!
I started OITNB at the beginning of June and now I’m half way through Season 3, good right. I have been binge watching it in the evenings, meaning going bed pretty late. I have watched Pretty Little Liars from the very beginning and I’m pretty sad to see the end! Especially with it being such a big part of my life, I love all the characters, I kinda hope it continues…
I also found out that iZombie is coming to an end with Season 3, I love this series and I’m really hopeful of it continuing, I do need to catch up with the last two episodes though! That’s been pretty good going though with how busy I’ve been in June. But I don’t want to watch them too quick seeing as that will be the end for a little while! I’m glad I found OITNB to fill the time.
You know I feel like I need another holiday! It’s crazy how busy I currently am, it’s not going to stop either, with the move in a couple of weeks time as well as my job interview and hopefully finding an ‘adult’ job. I’ll be having my fingers crossed for the next couple of weeks to be successful.
I hope you have enjoyed this post! Sorry if it’s a little long, let me know what your favourite memory of June has been? Have you been anyway or done anything that’s been memorable? Let me know in the comments.

A wedding at a zoo sounds wonderful to me, what a fantastic venue! You look lovely all dolled up in your wedding clothes! I found the weather so frustrating this month too, my friends and I booked to go kayaking three times before the weather finally let us! Argh! I hope your July is fantastic!

My favourite part of June was when one of the actors from the TV show Nashville liked my tweet after their concert!
