July Favourites

I’m not sure about you, but July has gone pretty quickly for me, it’s already the 2 August with only a couple more months to go until Christmas! I’ve really enjoyed writing these Favourites posts, as it’s a perfect way for me to remember what I’ve done, just like June I’ve been pretty busy this month. For the past couple of months, I have loved taking part in Neverland Blog Tours.

If you haven’t been following An Ocean Glimmer, Neverland Blog Tours were created by Jenny the blogger behind Jenny in Neverland. She hosts a range of different Blog Tours for all kinds of book genres, including Young Adult, Romance, Thriller and Mystery, I’ve been very fortunate to take part in a couple of her Blog Tours including this month’s Blood Bank by Zoe Markham.

I adored reading Blood Bank, it was a book definitely up my street, I don’t want to ruin the book too much for you here but if you are interested you should check out my review here. For the last couple of months, I’ve treated myself to getting my nails done, I found this very cute boutique, Vogue Hair, where all the staff were very friendly! For me, this is key, as you don’t want awkward silence while having your nails done.

Normally I try and have my nails represent something for that month, as for mid-July I was going to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix, I decided to do them in the Silverstone Racemaker colours, Pink and Blue. I am always massively impressed whenever I go to Vogue because the shellac lasts for weeks! It’s still looking very good until this day which is perfect, £15 well spent I would say.

If you know me, you’ll know how much I love Formula 1! The drivers, teams and most importantly the atmosphere, I am very lucky to be a Silverstone Racemaker, the friendly face of Silverstone. Soon I am thinking about writing about what this actually is because I’m sure you’ve all got a lot of questions. This weekend was as good as ever and I got to catch up with a load of old friends as well as making new ones.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the British Grand Prix without me meeting a driver! Well, this year I was able to meet six, very impressive right. My camp out at the Formula 2/GP3 paddock was a success, I met Jolyon Palmer, Lance Stroll and Lewis Hamilton who all drive in Formula 1. Then Charles Leclerc who drives in Formula 2 and Jack Aitken and George Russel who drive in GP3.

You know it’s car season when you’re pretty much having a show every other weekend, which I am currently loving! This month, I was able to go to the Donkey Sanctuary for their monthly car show, where along with seeing old and new cars, you can also meet some donkey friends. This show was in attendance with my car club, MG Rover South West Owners Club who are more than just a club, they are my second family.

This was a sad show, as it marked mine and Peter’s last show with them before we moved to Aylesbury, it did make me realise how much I would miss them all while I was sat there chatting to everyone. We are hoping to still regularly go to some of their meets, so fingers crossed it’s not the end! I also just love seeing my car all clean inside and out, as well as meeting new people.

I hope you have liked this month’s favourites! A lot has definitely happened and this doesn’t even include my move, I hope you’ve all had a lovely July. What was your best memory of the month? Let me know in the comments, I will love to know.

  2. Awww, it looks like you had a fantastic July! Lucky you for getting to go to Silverstone, my Nanna is a huge Formula One fan (except she hates Lewis Hamilton, she describes him as “that silly boy” hahaha) and she and my Dad have been to the British Grand Prix several times, I’d love to go too some day! I would also really like to go to the Donkey Sanctuary as they do such fantastic work, and a car show is as good a reason as any! I hope that August brings lots of positivity for you!
