Monthly Goals // January 2018

I hope you are all having a lovely start to 2018! Things definitely do feel a little different, I am trying my hardest to be motivated, after my mini-blogging break, it feels weird being back. Especially as I’ve started work as well, I now need to get my butt into gear. January is a good month for reflecting on not only the previous month but year, it’s nice to look at where you’ve gone right but also what you can change and improve.

For today’s post, I’m reflecting on my goals that I set for December, as well as creating some new ones for January.

I completed Blogmas 2017! If you were following An Ocean Glimmer during December, you were treated to 25 Winter/festive themed posts, weren’t you lucky! I hope you all enjoyed them and I’m definitely proud of myself for that content. It was touch and go at times, but I’m glad I was able to complete Blogmas.

I feel thanks to Blogmas, I was able to reach 9.5k views. That’s crazy, I’m definitely thankful to you all and I can’t believe how close I now am to 10k views on An Ocean Glimmer. This pushes me to create more great content for you. Unfortunately, I was unable to reach 3k followers on Twitter though, I’m really finding it hard to get followers on Twitter.

Even with Christmas and the holidays, I was able to save another 1k! I’m soo pleased as this now means I’ve got around 2k saved up which is a great figure to have. It’s still a long way off our mortgage target but with only saving in two months, I feel that’s pretty good! Fingers crossed it won’t be long until myself and Yasmine have our own place.

Let’s get to my January Goals!

As I’ve said, I’m really close to 10k views, I feel this goal will be on my list every month until I reach it but it feels soo close now so it’s definitely going to be soon. I’ve already managed to plan content for the whole of January, I just need to write it, but I feel with my consistency, I’ll get there soon.

This month, I am going to push myself to achieve 3k followers on Twitter, recently it has been hard to gain new followers but I’m going to work my magic and achieve it. I know I can do this, as well as reaching 500 followers on Instagram, a goal I’ve been hoping to achieve longer than Twitter. I definitely need to up my Instagram game this month.

I am only 5 followers away, can I do it? My fingers are crossed! As I’m doing so well with saving for our mortgage, I really hope I can save another 1k. My fingers are crossed for this one and it would be great to finish January with around 3.5k, hopefully, Yasmine can save up some money as well for this.

I really want 2018 to be the year where I read all kinds of books, I’m definitely going to push myself and read more than 2017. I am looking to read 3 books in January, that’s manageable right? Last but no means least, I would love to continue my consistency from 2017 in 2018, this month I would love to post twice a week on An Ocean Glimmer! This is going to help me achieve my other goals for January.

I hope you have enjoyed this post! I will be doing my 2018 Goals soon, so stay tuned for that, in the meantime, I would love to know what you’re most looking forward to this month, please let me know in the comments!

  1. Good luck with all your goals! You can do this! I’m in awe of you managing to save so much in December! I feel like the main aim with Instagram is to keep the followers once you get them – this follow/unfollow thing is getting beyond a joke. I myself have now reached 700 followers 6 times today. Every time I reach it, it seems 3 people unfollow! Can’t wait to see how you get on with your goals throughout January xx

  2. Loving all your goals, girly! I’m pretty sure you’ll smash them. I’m so proud of you for completing Blogmas, as your posts were amazing! I think you need to help me with saving, you are doing so well! I’m hoping to hit 3K on Twitter this month also but every time I gain a few followers I always seem to lose some too haha. Hopefully we’ll both hit it soon!

    1. Thank youu Sam, that’s really kind of youu. I’ve got everything crossed at the moment. Blogmas was a MASSIVE achievement for me, I’m soo glad I was able to complete it. That’s two years in a row now! Woopp! Haha, I’m trying, it’s definitely not hard though. Hopefully with Christmas out of the way I can save a little more each month. Ugh, I know the feeling, I seem to get soo close and then boom, I loose about ten, I really hope I can do it this month. I’m just soo close!

  3. Well done for doing Blogmas girl, I’m not sure if I ever could deal with that kind of stress haha! Fair play to you. I’m sure you will hit your 10k views in absolutely no time 🙂 and social media goals can be hard to hit, you need to be constantly on them too usually but it just takes a bit of time to build them up! Saving is hard too, especially with all these January sales around, good luck with it all! 🙂
