January 2018 – Sticker Day

I have really loved celebrating weird and wonderful National Days throughout 2017, so I’m definitely continuing this into 2018. I hope you have enjoyed these as much as I have writing them, I’ve definitely learnt about some random things! It’s crazy to think that every day there’s a National Day behind them, every day there’s something going on.

To start January off right, I’ve chosen Sticker Day!

Today is a day to celebrate all things stickers! I love decorating notebooks, planners, all kinds of things with stickers. Of course, planners are the best tool for them, as it brightens them up. Sticker Day is in honour of R. Stanton Avery, a rags-to-riches entrepreneur who created the first commercially feasible self-sticking, peel-off labels, launching a new company and a new industry.

There are all kinds of ways to celebrate Sticker Day, today I’m celebrating by a sticker haul! I know a few people who design and create their own stickers, they are very talented and I wanted to share some love to them. As January is the start of a New Year, I have a new planner to keep me organised, meaning stickers are a must! They make our planners look prettier and inviting.

I knew exactly where to pick up some planner stickers, Jemma Humphreys the owner of Dorkface. If you’re in the blogging community I’m sure you’ll know Jemma for her blog, but she also has her own Etsy full of colourful prints and stickers. I’ve previously spoken about Jemma in a couple of mini-hauls including a Chrismas Haul and a generic introduction piece.

I decided to purchase her Huge Bumper Pack of Blogger Stickers and her Cute Pink Sticker Pack. These have become very useful for my planner as I’m able to quickly list what each day entails but also, it adds a bit of colour to my planner. While flickering through, they stand out perfectly, meaning I know what I need to do and when. These have definitely helped me be more organised.

Another person I love supporting their work is Danielle Timcke, the creator of the small stationery business Dot Creates! I love everything that Danielle produces, her Blog Planners are far the best on the market and I wouldn’t change mine for anything. For 2017, I purchased her Ultimate Blog Planner, this helped me to be very organised over the year, so it was no secret that I would pick up another Blog Planner for 2018.

I was treated to a sheet of her ‘Believe & Achieve’ Sticker Sheet at the beginning, to decorate my planner. These are perfect and as they feature stickers like Must Do, To Do and Important, meaning you can use these throughout but also she has cute illustrations, similar to the ones she features on the calendar pages. I love them a lot as they’re great to motivate yourself, especially if you’re having a difficult day, you can do this!

I hope you have enjoyed this mini haul. Do you like stickers as much as I do? I would love to know your thoughts!

  1. I feel like such a child saying this but I LOVE STICKERS!! I have ever since I was a kid, they’re such a fun thing to have and collect haha, I used to hoard them like mad and not want to use them! At one point I had a whole case just absolutely covered in them, I had smelly ones, furry ones, bubbled ones, they were amazing! I love the sets you’ve picked up here, they’re adorable 🙂 I’m tempted to pick myself up some now for my diary!

  3. I must say that weird and wonderful holidays such as sticker day really are a lot of fun! They provide such great inspiration for blog content as well, it’s definitely something that I want to start doing! I was actually gifted some stationery from Danielle’s Dot Creates store for Christmas and I was completely in love with it, so I will have to make some more purchases of my own! I really love Jemma’s shop as well, her bright and creative vibes are right up my alley!
