Today’s post is a little different from usual, this is my entry for the Let There Be Light Competition, a blogger competition in partnership with Urban Cottage Industries. When I was contacted regarding this competition, I jumped at the opportunity as photography is definitely one of my favourite things! I love that Urban Cottage Industries is running this competition, as it’s a great idea for bloggers to get creative.
The entries will be judged by three different bloggers, Sian Lewis, Julia Hartbeck and Stacey Sheppard. This is the perfect opportunity to get creative and showcase your photography skills, of course, competitions mean prizes! There’s one winner for the Let There Be Light, you have the opportunity to win £500 worth of vouchers for photography equipment from Amazon. Don’t worry if you don’t get that top spot though, as five runner-ups will receive a personalised Moleskine notepad.
This competition showcases two of your best photos, giving you the opportunity to be creative but one has to be in natural light and artificial light.
There we go! My entry for the Let There Be Light Competition, I didn’t realise til browsing through my images, how many of them are actually good. We can’t always be perfect, these two images really grabbed my attention and I’m very proud of both of these. That’s why I’ve entered them for the Let There Be Light Competition, fancy this competition for yourself?
Why what are you waiting for! Go enter yourself, it’s very simple just create a blog post similar to this, but you don’t have long left! This competition closes Wednesday 31 January at midnight, so get your thinking cap on and take some photos to be proud of to enter in this competition. For more information, you can head over here, where all the details are available.
I know this post is a little different to my normal posts, but I hope you have still enjoyed it! I would love to know what one photo you would choose to enter in a photography competition.

Best of luck with this competition, Gemma! I love the image of the racing car, it’s framed so well to capture the speed! I’m impressed with your artificial light photo too, I always struggle when I’m not using natural light so you get a round of applause from me! 👏🏼 I want to experiment with lowlight photography in some future posts so keep your fingers crossed for me!!
