May 2018 – Get Caught Reading Month

It only feels like yesterday that it was January, now we’re starting May. Spring is definitely here and hopefully, it will stick around for a little while. I’m really enjoying sharing with you different National Day/Month, you get to learn something new and exciting. May marks Get Caught Reading Month, a nationwide campaign to promote the fun of reading books for all ages.

The campaign was launched in 1999 by the Association of American Publishers and now managed by Every Child a Reader with support from the Lois Lenski Covey Foundation. To celebrate Get Caught Reading Month is really easy you just need to dig your nose into a book and forget about the concerns of other peoples’ opinions. Get Caught Reading Month is a great chance to meet other bibliophiles as well!

I’m going to celebrate Get Caught Reading Month by sharing with you a variety of books over the course of this month that I’ll be indulging in! I’m sure you will all know that I try taking part monthly in Book Blog Tours hosted by the lovely Jenny Marston over at Neverland Blog Tours. I love taking part in these, as it is helping me to achieve my Goodreads 2018 Reading Challenge.

The Planetsider

This month is no exception, on Wednesday I took part in The Planetsider Blog Tour, a gripping, post-apocalyptic thriller that will keep you hooked until the very end. That’s not all though, next week I’m the fifth stop on the SHINE Blog Tour, I’m really excited to read SHINE as it’s a little different from what I normally read, it’s a non-fiction book that rediscovers your energy, happiness and purpose.

On Monday 14 May, I will be taking part in The Development Blog Tour, now this was originally meant to happen in November but there was a change of place with the publication date! The date was pushed back to this month, I didn’t realise until recently that this is the third book in The Cora Baxter Mysteries. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to read it ok!

The Development

Later this month, I’ll be sharing with you May’s Reading Challenge with the Blogger Book Nook! Now if you don’t know what the Blogger Book Nook is, where have you been!? I have been taking part each month and I even wrote a little introduction post. This month we will be going back in time and indulging in a book set in our favourite decade, I’m really excited about this Reading Challenge as it opens up a wide range of books we can choose. I’m not sure yet what I’ll be reading! Hopefully, I will choose soon.

I have planned a lot of reading this month! I can’t wait to share my thoughts on all of these books I have listed in this post. These Book Blog Tours are really helping me to achieve my Goodreads 2018 Reading Challenge. As I mentioned in my 2018 Personal Goals, I set myself a goal of reading a total of 15 books. I know this may seem a low number to a few of you but just over one a month will be a success for me.

You can keep up to date with my 2018 Reading Challenge by following me here on Goodreads. I’ll be adding books to my Reading Shelf and updating once they’re read with a review. According to Goodreads, I have completed 40% and I’m two books ahead of schedule. I am very happy with this as we’re not even halfway through the year! With all these planned books, I’m sure this will look different at the end of the month.

Goodreads

Unfortunately, not every month am I able to read books but with the help of these Book Blog Tours and the Blogger Book Nook, I have been reading a lot more! I really hope I can continue this over the course of the rest of 2018. Being 2 books ahead is definitely very helpful, especially if I have a quiet month, like March where I only participated in that month’s Reading Challenge.

I think I’ve planned all these Book Blog Tours just right to really enjoy Get Caught Reading Month! I’m definitely going to Get Caught Reading.

I hope you have enjoyed this little review!
What book will you Get Caught Reading this month?
