Monthly Goals // May 2018

With a new month here, it means it’s time to set some new Goals for the upcoming month. I love writing down my Goals each month as it really helps me to stay on target for my 2018 Personal and Blogging Goals. I’ve had a lovely April, you can find out what I’ve been loving here with my April Favourites. Here, I share with you what I’ve been up to as well as products I’ve been loving.

For today’s post though, it’s all about my Monthly Goals! I’ve had a really strong month, I have achieved a lot of different things, but are they the same as what I set out to achieve at the beginning of April. It’s good to also reflect on your previous Goals, this helps to see if you’ve been on target throughout the month and gives you an indication of where you need to go for the next month.

Before I set myself some new Goals for May, let’s reflect on my April Goals!

Reach 650 Followers on Instagram – I have not been able to reach 650 followers on Instagram, I’m close, but unfortunately not close enough! I’m only on 611… It’s really hard at the moment to push yourself. I don’t know what I should do to push myself further! I might have to start taking part in more follow chains to see if I can find like-minded people.

Reach 3,500 Followers on Twitter – Unfortauntely, like Instagram, I’ve had a low month on Twitter and haven’t been able to reach 3,500 followers. I’m currently on 3,183 followers, could I push myself in May? I would like to but I need to push myself behind the scenes to interact with people. If you have any recommendations to gain more followers, please let me know in the comments!

If you are not already following me on Instagram/Twitter, well what
are you waiting for!? You can find my channels below.

Read 2 Books – The month was looking strong for books, but unfortunately, I was only able to read one. I’m still ahead by two books for my Goodreads 2018 Reading Challenge, I’m hopeful of increasing this further in May as I’ve got four Book Blog Tours lined up. It will be good to read these all seeing as it’s Get Caught Reading Month.

12,000 Views on An Ocean Glimmer – DONE! I can’t believe it but An Ocean Glimmer reached 12,000 views in April, with one week left I hit this amazing milestone. To think An Ocean Glimmer will be three years old in October, I am very happy with this goal. Onwards and upwards from here! Of course, my next goal now is to reach 15,000, I wonder when I can reach this!?

Pass Probationary Period – I’m pleased to say that I’ve passed probationary period with 4CM! It’s been six months since I started with them, it’s gone past quick, I have learnt soo much and there’s definitely so much more. It’s been hard the past couple of months, with staff changes and more challenging work. Thankfully, I have pushed past this and they’re all really happy with my work!

Attend Pride of Longbridge – When I set this at the beginning of April, I knew I would achieve it… well that’s until two days before the big day it was officially cancelled. The event was planned to take place on a field near the factory but with the horrible weather, we had beforehand, for health and safety reasons we couldn’t. Still, as you’ll know from my April Favourites, we still attended!

Let’s get to my May Goals!

Read 2 Books – As I mentioned above, I have just a couple Book Blog Tours in the pipeline for May. I’m really hopeful that I can read them all! This would really help to boost my Reading Challenge, with a different book each week though, it is going to be tough but I think I can do this! Well, I better start reading then.

Continue to be Ahead – I’m doing really well at the moment with being ahead with blog posts, I’m really proud of myself. Since December, I think I’ve been at least two weeks ahead which, with working full-time this is really helpful! I would love to continue this, I’ve nearly scheduled all the content for May.

Consistently go Bed Early – With early mornings, I need to get all the sleep I can! I’m really bad for going bed late and feeling horrible in the morning. This month I would like to change this and try going bed each night early so I can get a decent amount of sleep each night. This will help me to be a lot more active and feel better about myself, hopefully!

Save £500 for Mortgage Fund – Over the past couple of months, I’ve really been struggling to save for our mortgage fund. This month things are calming down a little bit so I would love to try and save a further £500. Hopefully, once my wages come in, I’ll be able to straight away put the £500 away. Slowly but surely, we will get there.

Reduce Weekly Food Bill – I went to Aldi for the first time last week and it surprised me how cheap they were! I can spend anything up to £100 a week on food in Tesco and that’s buying cheap but good quality. Including some big brands as Tesco doesn’t have their own version. I’m going to now start shopping in Aldi and with the money I save, I’m going to put that away to our mortgage fund.

Better Understand SEO – I’ll be honest, I don’t know anything about SEO! I’ve touched a little on it at work as we work on digital projects for our clients. I would love to make it work for myself and hopefully create a better platform. First, I need to go back to basics and understand SEO, then I can hopefully implement it on An Ocean Glimmer.

If you have any tips or even blog posts, please share them in the comments below!

Spring Clean on my Phone – To me, as soon as it starts warming up and the flowers start opening, it’s a good time for a Spring Clean. A lot of people start with their homes or lives but for me, I’ll be starting with my phone. God knows how much is on my phone! I need to have a Spring Clean on my phone especially as I’m able to upgrade soon and I don’t want to lose any of my photos as they hold special moments.

I hope you have enjoyed this post! What is the one thing you would love to achieve this month? Let me know in the comment!
