Monthly Favourites // May 2018

We’re heading in June, the official start of Summer! Recently though, it seems like we’ve skipped Spring and headed straight into Summer with the weather we’ve had. A new month means it’s time to share with you my favourites, for me May has been a busy month, I think every weekend I’ve been doing something. This is definitely not changing heading into June.

May has been a cracking month! Meaning I’m really excited to share my favourites with you but I’m sure you might just have seen these on my social channels.

Missed my April Favourites? Head over here to see what I was loving
during the month.

Shall we get started with my May Favourites?

Warm Weather – In what seems like forever, we had a gorgeous start to the month with a heatwave here in the United Kingdom for Bank Holiday weekend. It was actually warmer than some European countries! I enjoyed this weather massively as it’s nice to see the sun, unfortunately, this was the weekend we were at Silverstone and there was hardly any shade. Pretty much each week the sun has graced us with its appearance.

Japfest – We haven’t attended Japfest since it moved to Silverstone back in 2016 but with us now living in Aylesbury, it means Silverstone is only down the road! We just had to get tickets to go and I’m very glad we did. As I mentioned above, Japfest happened over the first Bank Holiday so it was a gorgeous weekend! I can definitely see why the event moved to Silverstone from Castle Combe as it could fill the whole sit.

There were amazing cars around the circuit and the drifting made it even more amazing. From that first moment watching drifting at Combe I fell in love and have followed it ever since. I actually forgot how much I missed drifting and the smell of burnt rubber! Also, it was lovely seeing all the stalls, different ones from when Japfest was at Combe. It’s always good picking up goodies, like air fresheners and stickers.

FIA World RallycrossMay marked the beginning of the fifth season as a Silverstone Race Maker when I volunteered at the FIA World Rallycross. This was not only the first event of the year but also the first year Silverstone hosted the event. It was such a great event, I’ve never been to Rallycross before but I would definitely love to go again! The weekend was great seeing all my Race Maker friends and watching some great racing.

I even had the opportunity to watch the race from the start / finish line! It was a great atmosphere and there was plenty to see and do, from watching the WRX to support races like RX2 and ARX. There was also entertainment track action from Group B RX and Monster Drift, despite having the disappointment that Ken Block wouldn’t be there I still met plenty of drivers! Including Tanner Foust, Nic Hamilton, Andrew Jordan and Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni.

Monaco Grand Prix – You’re probably wondering what the Monaco Grand Prix is about, I’m afraid it’s not me attending (I wish!) but Daniel Ricciardo winning his second race of the 2018 Formula 1 Season. Things were looking good for him all weekend but this normally happens and things get in his way of winning. As soon as he qualified on pole, I had everything crossed and I knew he could do it!

Thankfully, nothing stopped the Honey Badger from cruising around the streets of Monaco and crossing the finish line in first. I’m soo proud of him and knew he could do it! Was definitely a great moment and hopefully, he can continue this strong pace, who knows maybe even at Silverstone in four races time.

The Body Shop VIP Event – I had the pleasure of attending my very first blogger event! At the same time of being very nervous, I was very excited, especially as I adore The Body Shop and I also met the lovely Andi from And Then Zen. I’m not going to speak too much about the VIP Event here as I’ll be treating you soon to a full-length post! What I will say is how friendly everyone was, it was also nice meeting other bloggers. I came home with a goodie bag full of amazing goodies and one other special gift.

For the moment, please enjoy the images below.

I hope you have enjoyed this Favourites post! It’s always crazy how much you do over a course of a month. I love looking at my Instagram to help me reflect on the previous month. May has definitely been a good month, June is looking to be a good month as well, there are more car shows and I will be back at Silverstone for MG Live! and Supercar Sunday.

What’s been your favourite thing you’ve done in May?
