I hope you’re all having a lovely June! Can you believe it’s already halfway through the month? Now it gets excited as next week I’m going home and then the week after I’m at Silverstone for the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. Here is my first book review and blog book tour of the month. One that I’m actually really excited to be a part of because I’ve fallen in love with this book!
This blog book tour is hosted by Faye Rogers, over at Authoright, I have found some new loves since participating in book tours. Today is no different as I am the third stop on Preceded by Chaos Blog Tour hosted by Faye, I am also sharing the blog book tour with Big Book Little Book and Carry on Beautiful so please check out their blogs to read what they thought.
Preceded by Chaos? Let me tell you a little bit about it;
Preceded by Chaos is a graphic illustrated series, charting the dramatic past, present and future of a young emergency room doctor, as the stress of saving lives threatens to overwhelm him. Mitchell Weaver is a troubled young Emergency Medicine doctor, orbiting a world of high-stress, intense pressure. It’s a distinguished profession with the burden of a variety of particularly disturbing personal demons that he must battle in order to maintain the façade of sanity and control.
I love a good book where you get sucked in, Preceded by Chaos is exactly that! I found myself just reading and reading until the very end, thankfully I had enough time to actually do that. This book isn’t as long as others I’ve read which with limited time at the moment, it’s perfect. I love the added feature of graphics drawn by Wheeler every so often within the book.
This breaks up the book perfectly and even helps with your imagination, I love falling into the book while getting along with the characters. I am a massive fan of graphic novels meaning this book is right up my alley! I’ve never actually read one that includes words and graphics, it’s such a good read and every word sucks you into the world with Mitchell.
I couldn’t put it down for even a minute after the first time I picked it up. I highly recommend getting the paperback as the smell and feel is amazing, graphic novels are brilliant in this way. Reminds me of all the times I picked up a graphic novel from my local comic book shop. It’s such an easy read and definitely keeps you curious about what will happen next to the main character.
These are definitely my favourite types of books, unfortunately, I haven’t been able to finish the book as even with it being an easy and interesting read, I just haven’t had the time! Which is such a disappointment as I got sucked straight into the world and was really looking forward to finishing. Also some further good news, there are more books in this series.
I’m most definitely going to look into getting the other books as I know
they will be just as good and continue an impressive story.
How about a little about the author, M. Wheeler;
M. Wheeler has held an eclectic array of jobs – including working as a studio
engineer and a teacher — before he entered medical school in his thirties. During his
residency in New York City, he wrote the first three books which would eventually
become the Preceded by Chaos series.
You can follow Wheeler on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram as well as his official website.
