Here we are, the beginning of a new month, can you believe that it’s now September. I know I can’t! We are slowly approaching my favourite season, Autumn, I can not wait for the coming weeks. Jumpers, hot chocolate and cosy nights in, what more could a girl as for. Before jumping too far into the future, we first need to review what happened in August and let me tell you, there’s a couple of good ones.
Missed my July Favourites? Head over here to see what I was loving
during the month.
Shall we get started with my August Favourites?
My Personalised Case | I love a good phone case to protect my phone, since owning my Samsung Galaxy S9, I haven’t found the case for me. My Personalised Case came to the rescue and now I’ve got a perfect case which I designed myself! I’m really happy with the quality and how easy the service was. Go check out my review here to learn all about My Personalised Case and the design I went with.
Modified MG ZR | August has definitely been the month to modified my MG ZR, there has been a lot of work gone into her. Firstly fitting her new lowering springs to stop the rattling noise! Unfortunately, this didn’t solve the problem… Also I gave her a good detail with Carspunk. One of my new favourite cleaning brands, I have loved using this detailer recently, as you can see from my Instagram I do enjoy giving her some love.
Red Bull Racing | If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you’ll know how big of a Formula 1 fan I am. That’s why when I started my job in Milton Keynes, I just had to visit the Red Bull Racing factory, which was exactly 8minutes away. Despite living in Aylesbury for just over a year, I have only just visited the factory! It did tear me up a little as I’ve always seen it in photos but it was great to see it in real life.
World Endurance Championship Silverstone | As I said in my July Favourites, August was home to another weekend at Silverstone. It was definitely one not to miss! I adored my weekend there, I did a lot of walking, met a lot of nice people and even some famous faces. Silverstone is the perfect location to meet some drivers, nearly every weekend I’ve visited, I at least meet one driver. This weekend was no different as I met Sebastian Buemi, also I got pretty close to meeting Fernando Alonso!
Five Guys | In Plymouth, we were quite limited on the type of food outlets we had, I’ve always heard of Five Guys and good things about the food but never got to experience it until now. Oh my God, I am so happy I finally had Five Guys, the food is amazing burgers are ten out of ten, chips are brilliant with their skins on. The milkshake was something different!
Flexitol | In recent months I have heard some really good things about Flexitol! I was approached by Mosquito Digital for a collaboration with Flexitol and I just had to say yes. I have really enjoyed using these products over the past few weeks, especially their Hand Balm, can’t say any bad words towards this and has really helped with my dry skin recently. Don’t worry, I will be reviewing all the products on An Ocean Glimmer soon.
Blockbuster Movies | I am behind on some of this year’s blockbuster films, there are plenty of films I have on my to watch list, including Ready Player One and Avengers Infinity War. They finally came out on DVD which means, I was able to get my hands on them! I don’t want to spoil these movies, I would definitely recommend you watch them both if you haven’t already, Avengers is perfect but the ending… Why do they do that!?
Nottingham | On Bank Holiday Monday, Yasmine, myself and our friend, went on a road trip to Nottingham to collect a load of car parts. With a two and a half journey up the road, I didn’t want to just collect the parts and come straight back. I decided we should pop into Nottingham town centre, I didn’t realise how big of a centre it was there were all kinds of shops!
While roaming around, we came across these cool robin statues and I just had to takes photos. These are part of an art trail called Hoodwinked 2018, turning Nottingham into the playground of Robin Hood, local legend and master of disguise. I was only able to find four in our quick trip but there are over 33 Robins roosting in the city, masquerading in coats of many colours. It’s a citywide game of hide and seek!
I hope you have enjoyed this Favourites post! It’s always crazy how much you do over a course of a month. I love looking at my Instagram to help me reflect on the previous month. August has definitely been a good month, I thought it would be quiet but actually, I feel like my feet haven’t touched the floor. I’m excited for September, seeing my MG Rover family and a month won’t be complete without a weekend at Silverstone.
What’s been your favourite thing you’ve done in August?
