Surviving change of season with Flexitol hand care range

This year has been a mixture of different weather conditions, from our Winter and the Beast from the East and our Summer hotter than Spain. Across the United Kingdom, we have all experienced this weather for some we’re able to cope but for others, it has been horrible weather conditions. Our skin is one of the most important things we have to look after especially our hands and feet.

I am always using hand cream to keep my hands soft and fight against my dry skin, I am forever changing up my skincare but with sensitive skin, I have to be careful. For the last couple of weeks I’ve been trying out some products from Flextitol and I want to share my thoughts with you guys. We sometimes forget to look after our skin, it’s something we need to start doing more.

In total, I received four different products from Flexitol, Hand Balm, Cuticle & Nail Cream, Heel Balm and Moisturising Foot Cream. Today, I am sharing my thoughts with you on the two products I tried first, Hand Balm and Cuticle & Nail Cream. I am always grabbing for hand creams so I thought these were the best to review first, I have a good understanding of what works and what doesn’t.

Before going into the two products, how about a little about Flexitol:

About Thornton & Ross

Founded in 1922, Thornton & Ross grew to become the largest independent pharmaceutical manufacturer in the United Kingdom, before becoming part of the STADA group in 2013.  From a base in Huddersfield, Thornton & Ross develop, manufacture and supply a growing portfolio of healthcare products including leading brands such as Flexitol, Covonia, and Cerumol.

Flexitol is a range of effective and innovative foot and skin care products.

Hand Balm

The Hand Balm is medically proven to provide effective, long-lasting moisturisation and rapid hydration to alleviate the symptoms of mild dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis present on the hands. This highly effective formulation contains Urea in a blend of emollients and is designed to be non-greasy and easily absorbed to improve skin hydration so you can feel it working from day one.

I am really happy with the Hand Balm, I have added this product to my daily skincare range for my hands. You only have to use a little of the product and rub into your cuticles and base of nails daily or as often as required to maintain well-moisturised cuticles and strong, healthy nail growth. With only a small dab required, this product will go along way, I have been using this continuous for the past couple of weeks and I haven’t even used half!

The scent isn’t overpowering or strong either, I can’t quite explain what it smells like, this is perfect as perfume based creams can affect my sensitive skin and even flare up my eczema. The cream absorbs instantly on to the hands and it doesn’t leave your hands greasy meaning you’re able to use your hands straight after applying. Within seconds my hands feel super soft and really nice to touch, much better than the normal rough and dry skin I have.

Definitely, with regular use I can see this cream helping, I am very impressed with the cream.

Cuticle and Nail Cream

The Cuticle and Nail Cream repairs, conditions and protects the cuticles and skin around the finger and toenails. It helps to overcome the ragged edges associated with dry cuticles, and restores moisture to the cuticles, keeping them soft and supple. In addition, the Cuticle and Nail Cream conditions your nails, improving appearance and promoting healthy nail growth.

I can’t believe the wonders of the Cuticle and Nail Cream! It’s super easy to use and a little definitely goes a long way, thanks to a little brush applicator. Making it easy to condition cuticles and smooth dry edges. You simply squeeze a little bit of cream out and apply on and around your nails with the brush. With thanks to the brush, you can put the cream exactly where you want and you won’t be using more than you actually need.

My hands and nails are definitely my favourite part of my body to care for, I adore hand creams and love painting my nails to the colours of the rainbow. I have never really had any problems with my nails, they’ve always been strong and grow as quick as anything. Growing up I have always received compliments for my nails, even surprising people when I inform them that they’re in fact my real nails and not fake!

I can definitely see how the Cuticle and Nail Cream will help to increase how fragile and weak your nails are. Bringing your nails back to life that they should be. With daily use, people with weak nails will definitely see an improvement! I have heard really good things about this cream, with it also promoting nail growth, I can’t wait to continue using. Hopefully, it will keep my nails looking healthy and strong.

Since using both of these products, I have seen a difference! All of their products contain Urea, a major constituent of the skin’s natural moisturising factor, which improves hydration by increasing the water uptake from the skin. For those whose skin lacks a natural moisturising factor, a product containing Urea can be used to replicate the hydration process. I would recommend both of these products to anyone suffering.

Flexitol products can be found at a high-street shop near you as well as supermarkets, head here to find a stockist if you’re interested in purchasing these products. You can follow Flexitol on Facebook and Twitter to keep up to date with their current and future products.

I hope you have enjoyed this review! Have you tried any products from Flexitol?
