12 Days of Blogmas #9 // Small Business Gift Guide

This Christmas, why not visit a small business to purchase your gifts from, over the past couple of months I’ve brought from a couple of small businesses. There are so many good businesses out there that hopefully will allow you to shop for almost anyone. Also, I don’t know about you but I swear it leaves such a good feeling in yourself.

I always try to explore places such as Etsy to come across gifts, with a simple search you can uncover a variety of gifts. Just be careful you don’t spend the whole day searching, once you start, it’s very hard to stop. I have got lost in Etsy a couple of times, thankfully I do purchase a couple of things, maybe more than I should have.

Today, I wanted to share with you a couple of small businesses in this handy Small Business Gift Guide.

EllesDoodleBox

Elle, the owner and designer of the stickers made at EllesDoodleBox, is an independent store located in Plymouth. Producing hand drawn stickers using a drawing tablet connected to a computer. She also produces beautiful prints with her illustrations and pin badges all made at home.

From drawing all the way to physically putting them together to the finished product. The items in her shop are made with love within her own home, this can be seen with the cute packaging she sends them in. She has a great collection from adorable animals to Pokemon and DC, there’s something for everyone.

I am a member of her group on Facebook, EllesDoodleBox and back in October, I won her Halloween Giveaway! I received this small selection of these adorable stickers, all hand drawn by Elle. I love them all, perfect for decorating notebooks and adding to envelopes when sending cards.

Fizzy Smelts

Bex, the owner and creator of the candles and wax melts at Fizzy Smelts, is an independent store. They are all handmade to order and not one candle will ever look the same, everything Bex has created is inspired by her favourite treats. All the treats are to die for, especially her Christmas collection.

I brought a couple of her wax melts to enjoy over the festive period, from these adorable Penguin Wax Melts in five different fragrances, Mince Pie & Brandy Wax Melts and Gingerbread House Brittle. The house is definitely feeling very festive with these burning! The warm Gingerbread fragrance is definitely perfect for those cold winter evenings.

I will be sharing a full review of all these lovely wax melts very soon, keep an eye out for that on An Ocean Glimmer.

LevikoDesigns

Louise, the owner and designer of the jewellery made at LevikoDesigns, is an independent store located in Edinburgh. Producing handmade bespoke quality pieces that can be tailor-made to your set specifications all presented in a beautiful gift box.

I received this beautiful Solar System Bracelet, made from semi-precious gemstones to represent each Planet, the Sun & Earth’s Moon and signature Volcanic Lava bead meteorites. Just look how pretty it is! I cannot believe this is handmade, Louise has put a lot of time into creating this.

This particular bracelet is a must-have piece of jewellery for a sci-fi fan or someone who loves unusual and geeky jewellery. A lovely gift for a friend or loved one this Christmas. Louise has such a good mixture of jewellery, from a Pearl Bracelet to a Honey Bee Necklace and a Solar System Keychain.

Please head over here to check out LevikoDesigns, I would really appreciate you showing the love to Louise. You can also keep up to date by following her on Twitter and Instagram.

Geeky Melts

Laura, the owner of the Geeky soy wax melts made at Geeky Melts, is an independent store located in Exmouth. Producing handmade wax melts, made from biodegradable soy wax and high-quality vegan fragrance oil. Only biodegradable glitter is used so the sparkles are guilt free.

Most of Geeky Melts wax packaging is plastic free and compostable, and whenever possible Laura even reuses postal materials too. Geeky Melts is the brainchild of Laura, an all-around geek, zombie enthusiast and cat lady. All the wax melts meet her personality from Skulls and Bones to Tombstones and Brains.

I recently received a couple of goodies from Geeky Melts, I wasted no time to start burning them on my Scentsy Burner. The scents were to die from, my favourite scent would definitely be Black Rose & Oudh, the mix of Rose, a centre of cloves and Praline work so well together.

Please head over here to check out GeekyMelts, I would really appreciate you showing the love to Laura. You can also keep up to date by following her on Instagram and Twitter.

I hope you have enjoyed this post! Will you be gifting from these
stores this Christmas?

  1. This is a lovely post, I think it is important to try and help the small businesses when you can! The drawings from EllesDoodleBox are so good, they are really cute too! The wax melts sounds like they will be perfect for this time of the year, and would look so cute as little presents for someone. Great ideas for presents 🙂
