12 Days of Blogmas #11 // Fizzy Smelts

There’s nothing better than snuggling into a blanket with a candle flickering in the Winter, with Christmas just around the corner there are some great festive candles to be lit. A candle can bring warmth to any room, what I love most is when the scent fills the room, especially if it’s something such as Cinnamon Stick and Spiced Orange. I much prefer wax melts, they’re becoming really popular.

You don’t have to worry about a naked flame and it will still fill the room with a lovely scent, sometimes the main reason for burning a candle. There are some great scents out there for wax melts, I swear it opens the door for inventions and there’s a lot more variety than candles. I recently reviewed Geeky Melts, the brainchild of Laura, an all-around geek and zombie enthusiast.

I fell in love with her melts and with this love I came across Fizzy Smelts, a store full of candles and wax melts created by Bex. They are all handmade to order and not one candle will ever look the same, everything Bex has created is inspired by her favourite treats. Her Christmas collection was to die for, I just had to pick up a couple to get into the Christmas spirit.

I brought a couple of her wax melts to enjoy over the festive period, from these adorable Penguin Wax Melts in five different fragrances, Mince Pie & Brandy Wax Melts and Gingerbread House Brittle. The house is definitely feeling very festive with these burning! The warm Gingerbread fragrance is perfect for those cold winter evenings.

The Penguin Wax Melt is perfect, I picked it up in the fragrance Mint Chocolate and oh my, it leaves my room feeling soo festive and smells amazing. There are five little penguins within the pack, perfect for only £2.75. One little penguin keeps its scent for a good amount of time, depending on how long you keep it burning I would probably say two or three days.

How cute is this little Mince Pie & Brandy Wax Melt!? I’m not overly keen on Mince Pies, that’s to eat of course, but this scent is perfect. The mix of Mince Pie and Brandy is amazing, leaves your home smelling divine! I’m soo glad I picked this up, I love how it even looks like a Mince Pie instead of being a typically wax melt in the shape of a cube, keeping its scent for approx 24 hours.

The last wax melt I purchased was the Gingerbread House Brittle. It comes in a handy resealable bag, thankfully meaning the scent doesn’t escape over time from an open bag. The scent is absolutely amazing! When I first opened I was amazed, it smells soo much like Gingerbread, it leaves your house smelling perfect and just like a tray of cookies are currently baking. There are even little Gingerbread Men, Candy Canes and Hearts in the brittle.

I would love for you to head over to Fizzy Smelts and give Bex some love! I’m more than positive you will find something that you fall in love with. Bex also has her own FacebookInstagram and Twitter, this is where you will be kept up to date with all her work. Once I’ve finished all these I will be purchasing more! I might just have to try one of her candles.

I hope you have enjoyed this post! Do you prefer Wax Melts or Candles?

  3. These look like they smell so good! I would say I would use either wax melts or candles, but probably more so wax melts because I have 2 cats who like to get into things, and a toddler. Lol. Thanks for sharing, I will definitely keep Bex’s melts in mind!

  4. I also reviewed some of Laura’s Geeky Melts wax melts, and they were delicious! I’m so gutted that I’m only finding out about Fizzy Smelts now, as her Christmas collection sounds wonderful 😍 Mint chocolate is my favourite kind of ice cream, so I’d love to get my hands on some of that one! Great post ☺️

  5. Oh wow, mint chocolate sounds incredible. Especially since mint chocolate is such a festive scent for me. My mum used to make mint choc truffles every year around Christmas time. Thanks for sharing this amazing collection with us!
