Monthly Goals // February 2019

It’s February, can you believe how quick the year is going? I have had a lovely January, I hope the past month has treated you well. Today I am going to be reflecting on the Goals I set myself at the beginning of January. I love reflecting and creating new Goals each month, there’s something about it that makes me more determined to achieve them.

There are no resolutions for me, it’s all about setting Goals to succeed throughout the year. My Monthly Goals always relate to the bigger picture of my Personal Goals and Blogging Goals for the year. I love creating new Goals, it’s just something about them, it also makes sure you’re on target and also it’s helpful to keep remembering the bigger picture and those Goals.

I have shared my adventures in my Monthly Favourites // January 2018 here. Before I set myself some new Goals for February, let’s reflect on my January Goals!

Save 1k | Done! I put my normal £500 away but thanks to a Christmas bonus at work, I was able to put another £500 away. This is making our savings look a little better for itself! Onwards for February.

Start Budgeting | Done! At the beginning of January, I sat down and reviewed my outgoings and ingoings. Then I set a certain amount of money aside for petrol and shopping each week. I’ve done pretty well if I say so myself.

1k Instagram Followers | Done! Finally, I have reached 1k followers on Instagram! I am soo happy and proud, I’m soo thankful to all of those who have followed me. It seems like forever since I’ve been pushing myself, all my Monthly Goals have had this one Goal to reach.

500 Blog Followers | I’m soo close, yet so far. I’m currently on 469 so it’s not the 500 I was hoping for but closer than I was. Just maybe 500 would be doable in February. I’m going to see what threads I can join to improve my following.

Start Exercising | Done! I’ve done a bit more exercise that I would normally do in a month but nothing major. I’ve done some walking during work and in the morning on the weekend. I definitely need to do more!

Read 1 Book | Nope! Unfortunately, I’ve been too busy and this Goal just slipped my mind! I actually need to evaluate what books I’ve got and which I’ve yet to read. I’ve got 11 months to read 20 books for my 2019 Goodreads Reading Challenge. I’m sure I’ll be fine!

February Goals

Let’s get to my February Goals!

Read 1 Book | In January, unfortunately, I was unable to read any books, I’m going to push myself now in February and try to read at least one book. I need to review what books I’ve got on my shelf and see which I have yet to read. I’m sure there are a couple that I haven’t read.

Walk 5 miles | I tried really hard in January to push myself and exercise more, I feel really good in myself and I’ve also been eating healthier. This month, I would love to walk a total of 5 miles, I’ll do this by little walks hopefully each day. 5 miles doesn’t sound that much over 28 days.

Drink More Water | This Goal works hand in hand with the above Goal, I need to start drinking more. I think I’ve got this covered at work but it’s just the evenings and during the weekend. I need to have a water bottle with me at all times, I feel this will motivate me.

500 Blog Followers | I was soo close to reaching 500 followers in January for An Ocean Glimmer. I think I can do it in February though, really going to push myself to achieve.

Plan Spring Content | All my Winter posts are planned and slowly being written, now it’s the turn of Spring! Would love to plan these over the next couple of days, then I can have a couple of weekends to relax instead of blogging. Soon my weekends are going to start getting busier!

Beat January Views | January was a great month for views, I really had a strong month and even strong start to the New Year. This is great as I know 2019 is going to be an amazing year for An Ocean Glimmer. There are fewer days in February, but I’m sure I’ll do just fine. Even if I beat February views from 2018, that would make me happy.

Thank-you for reading. What is the one thing you would love to
achieve this month? Let me know in the comment!

  1. Sounds like a really positive January and your February goals are definitely do-able 🙂 you’ll definitely be able to hit 5 miles, you’ll be surprised how quickly you’ll walk that! Good luck with hitting 500 followers, I’m sure you’ll get there in no time and I’ve started drinking more water since the new year. Keeping water with you at all times definitely helps!

  2. These sound like fantastic goals for February, Gemma! I love the idea of doing smaller walks everyday to add up to 5 miles, breaking it down is such a manageable and realistic way to reach a goal. I’m with you on the more water challenge, I add some lemon slices to my bottle and it makes it easier to drink (I’m not much of a fan of water on its own). All the best with your goals lovely and hope you achieve everything you want too! I can’t wait to start planning Spring content now, exciting! ❤ xxx

  3. Well done on achieving so many of your goals in January! I need to reevalute my budget and savings now that I’ve got a car again (it kinda ate up what I had, haha). I hope you hit your goals for this month too, it’s good to see people smashing through what they’ve set themselves. 🌹
    Thanks for sharing.

  4. You’ve done so well in January, and you have a great set of goals for February too! I always used to hate reading books, but the key is to find a book that really interests you and gets you gripped, and then you’ll never be able to put to down. This month, I’d really love to get a few more blogging collaborations! *fingers crossed*
