It’s easy to concentrate on all of the things I don’t have in life and be upset and bitter about it, but I don’t and I’m not. I’m grateful for the things I do have and have had in my life. Gratitude is one of the very best ways to improve your mood, it can be hard to focus more on the positive things in life. As humans, we will always pay more attention to the negative over the positive.
It can be hard to believe everything will be okay when you’re having a hard time. Today I wanted to write a post on the things I’m grateful for because there is so much to be grateful for and we can often forget how lucky we are to have what we have. With all the awful stuff going on in the world right now, I thought there was no better time to share it than the present.
Family and Friends | First and foremost, my family and friends. I always have and always will be grateful to those closest to me. Yes, we have our ups and downs but who doesn’t! It’s amazing to have such a supportive family, also having a supportive and caring partner.
Road Trips | I’m so glad I learnt to drive at 19 since then I have been able to travel to all sorts of places in England. It’s allowed me to spread my wings, I love having an adventure especially with Yasmine. Can’t wait to see where the future takes us.
Photography | Taking photographs is definitely one of my favourite things! It’s the perfect thing to capture all those moments to treasure forever. It’s lovely looking back on my Instagram feed, I know it will be great to look back on them in five years time.
Writing | Writing, for me, will always be a way to express myself and my space on the internet to share my feelings. It’s opened up so many doors for me and it’s a great way to keep my head clear. Brain dumping on to paper or a blank screen really helps to keep things in order.
Collaborations | When I started An Ocean Glimmer, I never thought I would still be blogging nearly three years later. I am so grateful and beyond thankful to all the opportunities I have received. I have worked with some amazing brands! Some I never thought would be interested.
I hope you have enjoyed this post. I feel so better about myself thinking about what I’m grateful for. It’s definitely lifted and improved my mood, I might just do this regularly but put it into the context of what I’ve been doing leading up to the post. We should definitely focus more on the positives in our lives than the negatives. It’s what makes us happy and grateful that makes us stronger.
I hope you have enjoyed this post! What is one thing you’re grateful for?

Such a lovely post! More people should concentrate on what they do have in life rather than getting caught up with the things they don’t.

Great post! I love road trips too – favourite songs on, windows down and the wind blowing through my hair 😍 (Weather permitting of course!) I find active gratitude like this so helpful to re-centre myself.
