If you’ve been following An Ocean Glimmer for a little while, you’ll notice I’ve been including a couple of Fitness Goals in my Monthly Goals. This might sound sad of me but these Goals have really pushed me and now I’m feeling really good about myself. I have now been visiting the Gym constantly for the past month. I would love to continue this as I think it’s improving my mental health.
I know we’re now halfway through the year but surely it’s never a bad time to start something new! Especially if it’s going to help with your overall health, I’m not one of those to wait until the New Year to change something about my life, there is no better time than the present to begin. I did though, wait until the beginning of June to begin my Gym membership, just something about it being a new month, new Goal.
Now, today I thought I would set myself a couple of Fitness Goals for 2019. I will then use my Monthly Goals to keep myself motivated for them. I will treat this similar to my 2019 Blogging Goals and 2019 Personal Goals, where I use my Monthly Goals to make sure I am on target and will reach them. Right, let’s begin! Here are my Fitness Goals for 2019.
Walk More | The NHS recommends you walk 10,000 steps in one day, it’s hard to keep track considering some pedometers and health apps aren’t all that reliable. I will admit my Samsung Galaxy Watch seems to be pretty reliable! This might be because it’s constantly on my wrist. I love walking, it gives you space from things that are happening in your life. Also, it helps to increase your steps if you have a static job like me. I want to walk more, extra to what I would normally in a month. Maybe an extra two or three miles a week, that sounds reasonable, right?
Lose Weight | I have always struggled with my weight, I’m not massively over but I’m not at a healthy weight for me. I need to lose weight over the course of 2019, I’m currently at 13st but I should be around the 11st mark. I think with visiting the Gym and looking more at what I’m eating, I have everything crossed that I can achieve this. There are also people around supporting me, so with their help, I’m sure I’ll be fine! I don’t want to drop all the way down but hopefully can drop a dress size or two.
Sleep More | Another thing I am struggling with is sleep after food sleep is one of the most important things! The quality of your sleep directly affects your mental and physical health and the quality of your waking life. For my age group, 18 to 25 years old, we’re recommended to have 7-9 hours of sleep. On a good night, I will achieve that but recently, I haven’t and I have noticed the effects. Some nights I can go to bed at 9pm but then struggle and go sleep at 10pm. I’m going to start my wind down time earlier than normal, also shut off all technology! Fingers crossed this works.
Walk/Run 5k | I can’t believe I’m saying this but I have signed up for Silverstone Run, the 5k… If you told me at the beginning of the year about this, I would have laughed in your face! I’ve pushed myself so much recently and I really believe I can do it. Even if I walk for some and then run the rest, the end Goal will be to complete the 5k, however, that is. I’ll also be doing this with Samantha over at Samantha. J, she is one of my bestest blogger friends, we will definitely motivate one another! Also, who could say no to running around Silverstone? The home of the British Grand Prix, also you receive some amazing goodies and there will be a Formula 1 car display.
There we go! There are my Fitness Goals for 2019. After writing those I am feeling motivated and positive, let’s see what 2019 brings. If I keep these in mind, I’m more than confident, I will be able to achieve. I do achieve much better when I write my Goals down, that’s also why I’m excited to be using the Daily Goal Setter Planner* these Goals will definitely be added here.
Thank-you for reading! Do you have a Fitness Goal you would love to achieve?
