Introduction to: Canon EOS M100

One of the reasons I adore being a blogger is the opportunity to take photographs. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a camera in my hands. This love has opened loads of doors for me from attending the British Touring Car Championship Media Launch and becoming one of the first official photographers for Race Makers. I adore taking photos for An Ocean Glimmer, I could spend hours just moving props around and thinking about the images.

Over the past couple of months, I have been looking for a new camera, I wanted to step up from my previous one to a compact DSLR. I’ve had experiences with DSLR cameras throughout college and university, but knew this would be too big for personal photos. I’ve even borrowed Dad’s on occasions, I love having the options with the different lenses. That’s why I knew I needed a compact DSLR, the perfect portable package, now where do I start looking!

My favourite brand is Canon, I have always used them so I’m pretty familiar with the brand. For whatever reason, I’m not good with Nikon probably because I’ve never used one. So I knew Canon was for me, I’m one of those people that is always looking around for the best option and package. It’s good to get the best deal on the market! That’s why when Currys PC World had the Canon EOS M100 and two lenses this was the one for me.

I received the 15-45mm and 55-200mm lenses, both perfect as a starter pack and what I require as a blogger. I’m also able to use these both when I’m on the road visiting the race circuit and car shows. I have the options as a DSLR but compact enough to take the camera with me where ever I go. Who could say no to this package!? I’ve only just begun to use the camera and still learning how to use the features such as how to grasp using the aperture and ISO features.

I love exploring the different setting and just playing around with the camera. I always find this the easiest way to learn how to use something new. There are some great features including the touchscreen and different modes to help capture any moment. I’ve taken a few shots for Instagram and since it has it’s own wifi, I can send any photos to my phone to then upload almost instantly, this is such a handy feature. I can now use the camera on the go and always have the opportunity to upload to Instagram.

Another plus with the Canon is the Photo Companion App a personalised, portable app that guides and teaches you as you embark on your photography journey. The app gives you access to tailored, easy-to-use content, camera lessons, and videos, perfect for if you’re on the move. I’m really glad I purchased this camera, I’m able to do so much more and I love exploring all the different features to take those extra special images wherever I am.

Thank-you for reading. I hope you have enjoyed this post!

  1. I’m a bit of an amateur with DSLR cameras. I took a course on them last year but I didn’t take too much away from it. I’ve heard Canon cameras are really good. This camera sounds super cool! Especially with all the new features and capabilities.
