I have always been a firm believer of learning to drive, even if you do not have the funds to purchase a car, having the ability to drive is great. I’ve also heard it’s harder to learn new skills as you get older, something about you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. That’s why as soon as I turned eighteen I started learning to drive and I don’t regret it. Driving allows you to go on adventures and explore new places.
On the other hand, you can not learn everything while taking your lessons, some things come with time. Passing my theory and driving test first time has to be one of my biggest achievements to date, now I’ve been on plenty of adventures up and down the country. I became a stronger person thanks to these adventures but even though I passed my test nearly three years, I am still learning to this day.
Here are a couple of lessons you’ll learn after passing your driving test.
You’ll become the laziest person | There are so many perks to driving, one of the biggest in my eyes is the freedom and adventures. That does bring with it, some negatives though such as becoming the laziest person! Need to visit the shops, you’ll drive there, want to visit a friend’s, you’ll drive there. See the pattern there, you’ll definitely drive everywhere just because you can really.
Your first drive will be your scariest | With your driver instructor in the car, you know you’re in capable hands. If something does happen, they’re there but once you pass, you’re on your own! Your first drive will be your scariest, I remember mine, Dad came with me just for comfort. It wasn’t long though before I was confident in driving and nothing was holding me back!
Other drivers will annoy you constantly | Now that you understand the rules of the road, every single driver will annoy you constantly on the road! You won’t understand why they did what they did but they’ll ignore you to no end. It’s crazy to see how much bad driving there is on the road, also you might want to add a swear jar into your car! Everything annoys me to no end because I just don’t understand why.
You’ll soon love driving anywhere and everywhere | When I first started driving I was super nervous, I suppose everyone is. As I mentioned above, it really is scary but after a while, you get used to it. I have lost count how many miles I’ve covered since passing and the locations I’ve visited. I love driving it’s definitely one of my favourite things! After a while, though you’ll want to drive anywhere and everywhere, that’s exactly what I do.
Thank-you for reading. I hope you have enjoyed this post!
