2019 Fitness Goals Update

It’s great to have a Goal in mind, not just a daily or weekly one but yearly as well. I love creating Goals, I feel so inspired and it’s a great way to continue achieving. Back in July, I shared with you my 2019 Fitness Goals, here I outlined exactly what I wanted to achieve over the course of the year. Now we’re in May, it’s the perfect time to reflect on my Fitness Goals and provide an update on progress.

I know I share my Monthly Goals but this doesn’t show the overall year story. When I’m setting my Monthly Goals, I try and keep my 2019/20 Goals in mind. It can be hard achieving your Goals, especially if it’s one you want to achieve in one year. Your Goals can be a lot easier to achieve if you think about them monthly. If you don’t create Monthly Goals, I would recommend starting now.

I shared my Fitness Goals in 2019 later than I shared my Personal and Blogging Goals. That’s because I wasn’t in the ‘fitness’ frame of mind. I started the gym back in June and I said if I continued and reached July, I would set myself some Fitness Goals. That’s exactly what happened! That’s why I’m only just sharing an update now, these could roll over as 2019/20 Goals.

Shall we begin with the update on my 2019 Fitness Goals?

Walk More | I have recently started the Challenges through Samsung Health, now because I have a Galaxy Watch, ALL my steps are tracked. This is great as not all the time do I take my phone with me. February was the first month and woow, I achieved 138,232 steps. Now that’s an average of just under 5k steps each day. I know it’s not the 10k the NHS recommends but, I’m pretty proud of myself.

Also, I was over halfway on the Spa, February Challenge as they set a Goal of 200,000. I’m going to continue these Challenges. They get you thinking about what you’re doing, also I’m walking more at work, so I’m not sat at a desk all day. I am a little late to the party but I’ve now signed up for the Jungle, March Challenge. It’s the same Goal as February, so let’s see what I can do!

Lose Weight | When I started the gym, I was 13 st, 1 lb and now I am 12 st 2 lb which for me is an amazing achievement. I have had a couple of setbacks, not going to the gym regularly for a couple of months and going crazy with food. But to lose just under 1 st in eight months is great, I’m continuing to push myself and I cannot wait to see what I’ll be in a couple of months time.

Sleep More | I haven’t kept a track of my sleep unlike my Steps but I’m feeling better about myself. I’ve even given up caffeine because of my acne. I’m no longer getting tired at 3 o’clock and requiring that caffeine fix. I think more sleep and no caffeine has really helped hand in hand. Let’s see if I can continue this! I need to start updating my phone as I can register my sleep there.

Walk/Run 5k | Completed! I was super proud of myself when I signed up for the Silverstone 5k and completed it back in November. OK so I didn’t run the whole thing, but I ran most of it which for me is a massive accomplishment. Also, I’m very glad Samantha was there every step of the way, I don’t think I could have done it without her.

There we go! That was an update on my 2019 Fitness Goals. I’m glad I’ve done this update, now I’m able to evaluate what I’ve achieved and what’s left to achieve. As mentioned above, I’m going to roll these Goals over to 2020. Please look out for when I set some Goals for 2020/21 around July time. That way, it will be exactly one whole year.

Thank-you for reading! How are your Goals going for 2020?
