My favourite things about Spring

Have I ever said how much I adore Spring? This season makes me happy! I swear this time of year does wonders for everything! With longer and warmer days it’s no surprise really. Normally this would also mean more adventures… but I’m sure you all know how well that is going! I’m not going to mention the thing that shall not be mentioned – I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about.

To cheer up the mood, I thought I would share 6 of my favourite things about Spring.

1. Warmer weather

Don’t get me wrong, I adore snuggling up on the sofa under the blanket with a hot chocolate but after what feels like forever, it’s great to have the windows open for a natural breeze in Spring. It also means more time outdoors. There’s a massive sense of energy that comes along with Spring and the warmer weather! Also, I’m an outdoors person so being able to go outside without multiple layers is an amazing feeling.

2. More daylight = More productivity

I have been so productive over the last three weeks! Now I’m not sure if that’s because of the lockdown or because of Spring. It’s now light when I wake up so I’m instantly in a mood to do something, rather than wanting to snuggle back in my bed. Also, more daylight means more time to get things done! That’s the exact reason why

3. Plants showing life

During Winter, the outdoors looks so miserable, there are no flowers, no nothing, but during Spring everywhere turns colourful. I love walking past all the flowers, seeing the little inserts flying around doing their jobs. It becomes a busy time of year! Also, it’s the perfect time of year to have flowers in the house, what’s better than waking up to the sweet scent of fresh flowers?

4. All the colours

This moves on nicely to the next favourite, all the colours! It’s such a magical and beautiful place, not just outside but also inside. I adore Spring colours, the pastels and soft hues, they are so light and airy so are perfect for this time of year. I don’t change everything because I don’t have the space to store every season items but I love changing the bedding to the beautiful baby blues and flowers. Always makes my bedroom light and airy.

❄️ Say goodbye to Winter blues and hello to Spring pastels! 🌼

5. The great outdoors

As mentioned above, I am an outdoors person so it’s no surprise this one made it to the list! I love just getting out there and exploring the world, whether that’s on my doorstep or a little further afield. Spring allows us to spend more quality time outdoors. Also, it’s lovely to see the change of season, I’m looking at you daffodils. In Aylesbury, we have canals throughout the town, it doesn’t match the sea scenery from Plymouth but it’s the next best thing for a walk.

And most importantly;

6. Spring cleaning

Who doesn’t love a good clean!? With a new season comes new adventures and memories. I love being able to hit the reset button on my life. It enables you to clear your environment of anything that’s in your way and to start anew. I don’t know why we do this but when we think of Spring, this is definitely one most of us think about! Also now is definitely more than ever a great time to do this, with most of us stuck at home.

  3. Watching the grass turn that rich green that leaves in fall is what I love about spring. Once the trees start to bud, I love spring even more and once the warm weather rolls in, sitting outside is like soaking in a dream.
    That said, spring cleaning always gets me motivated! I have only the basement left to do. 🙂
