If you’ve been following An Ocean Glimmer for a little while, you might know that I’ve been on an interesting acne journey. I’ve tried a range of products but unfortunately, nothing seems to work. I see minor changes but nothing that clears up my skin. Now, I know acne doesn’t go away but if I can combat and reduce it, then I’m happy with that! I have truly tried most products on the market.
I know before you can go anywhere with your Doctors, you need to at least try most products. I feel like I’ve tried most of the main products on the market but I know some health or beauty clinics have acne products as well. Yasmine visits one near Aylesbury for her laser hair removal, while at her last appointment she noticed they have acne treatments and recommended I check them out.
Of course, I did exactly that and booked a free consultation! I was able to speak through my problems, my concerns and my journey so far. This was the first time I’ve spoken with someone about my acne and it was good to voice my concerns, this was where they recommended I tried AlumierMD. Now I was a little nervous as I felt it would be another gimmick, would it really work?
There are a variety of products in the AlumierMD line, if I was looking at this myself, I wouldn’t know where to start! Thankfully, the acne specialist was able to recommend products – she understood what I was looking for and even took a look at my skin. The day I saw her for my free consultation, my skin was pretty bad which I’m thankful to be able to show her what I experience.
Of course, like any treatment, it will be a journey but it will be worth it in the end. It was a little overwhelming when she showed me the list of products but with her guidance, we were able to come to a conclusion with the products. She also recommended I start off simple, to make sure none of the products would irritate me more, then gradually work my way up.
On that very first consultation, I was recommended three products to start my AlumierMD journey:
- Step 1: Acne Clarifying Cleanser
- Step 2: Acne Balancing Serum
- Step 3: Clear Shield Sunscreen
As I have never used any of these products and the ingredients, it was recommended that I used the Acne Clarifying Cleanser every morning and evening, then every other day use the Acne Balancing Serum. I didn’t know how my skin would react, turns out using these products made my skin really dry. I did not know if this was normal OR this was actually to be expected.
After just under two weeks of using the products, I wasn’t happy so I booked a second consultation. I’m really glad I did this as it was just before the UK lockdown! I love the support of the clinic, I was able to talk through what I was experiencing and be honest with them and say, ‘is this normal?’. Thankfully, it was working and she meant the products were working better than she hoped!
Here this is where I moved on the next stage of the products, I was recommended two further products to help combat the dryness. There are different moisturizers from AlumierMD, I’m so glad I was able to talk each through and find the best one for me. I even tried one that day, it felt super refreshing to use the moisturizer! The two products were:
- Ultimate Boost Serum
- HydraClarite Moisturiser
Now I have a total of five products to use either for my morning or evening routine. If like me, you would forget what order they go in, write on the front of the box the order for that particular product. I’m keeping each product in the boxes for this exact reason! Else I definitely would forget what product I need to use. I continued to use each product and then incorporate these further products into my routine.

Step 4: HydraClarite Moisturiser
Final Step: Clear Shield Sunscreen

Step 3: HydraClarite Moisturiser
The Acne Balancing Serum is one product that I can also use throughout the day, really it’s for when the spots get bad! Some days I have even not used the Acne Balancing Serum, but I definitely gravitate to this at the first sign of a spot. I’ve experienced best results when you continue to us throughout the day and in the evening. Of course, you have to be a little careful as the product can dry the skin out.
I have been using AlumierMD products now for two months, I’m really happy with the results. There have been some good days and some bad days but that’s just how thing work, I’m going to push through them. I’ve seen results of people who have been using them for months, so I know I’ve still got a long way to go. I’m looking forward to where my journey goes.
I am looking at a couple of other products to continue the success but I’m unsure at the moment. You cannot purchase AlumierMD products the normal way, instead you have consult a specialist. In my instance, I visited Karma House Clinic who specifically sell these products and have the specialists on the team. Once you have sourced a clinic, you can either purchase the products through them or online.
At the moment of course, I cannot go to Karma House Clinic so thankfully, I’ve organised the online aspect, just in case this lockdown lasts that long.
