6 of my current Disney+ picks

While in lockdown I have watched A LOT of films and series on both Netflix and Disney+. Yes, I’ve been working but I need something in the background, also I’ve got more time in the morning and evening. Also, I’m not really doing that much on the weekend! Disney+ was launched whilst in the lockdown and I forgot how many films are Disney, it was like going back to my childhood.

If you don’t know what Disney+ is, it’s a streaming service just like Netflix and Amazon Prime, but it has everything Disney! I have been watching so much, it was definitely time for a new platform, I was starting to run out of things to watch on Netflix. There is so much to watch on Disney+, where do you start!? In the past, I’ve shared my Netflix recommendations, today I thought I would share my current Disney+ picks.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

If you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen my crazy binge-watch of every single Marvel movie, even watching them in chronological order! I truly forgot how many movies there were in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but I loved doing this and they were all on Disney+ apart from the two Spider-Man movies. My favourite character is Captain America and it’s pretty hard to choose my favourite movie!

Pocahontas

Growing up, my favourite princess was Pocahontas, I watched this film all the time as a child. I cannot remember the last time I watched Pocahontas, I just had to watch one and two back to back. This is a great film, the story is amazing and it definitely doesn’t get old! I was really excited to watch this one, I recommend it to all. It’s not your typical princess movie and that’s exactly why I love it so much.

Princess Diaries

You’ll start to see a theme occurring here! I watched a lot of Disney TV shows and movies growing up, so that’s why I’m pretty excited for Disney+ and sharing some old school shows and movies. That’s exactly the reason why the Princess Diaries is on this list! I loved this movie growing up, it’s an oldie but still a goodie. I love this now as much as I did when I first watched it.

Lilo & Stitch

Stitch is by far my favourite Disney character! It’s no surprise really if you look at my bookshelf, I adore this adorable alien. I am soo glad to see all the movies on Disney+ and every episode of the TV show. I recommend this to everyone, there’s enough there to keep you going for a couple of hours. There are so many cool aliens created for the series, I couldn’t pinpoint my favourite though.

Alice in Wonderland

Now, here I’m talking about the Tim Burton one so this is a recent movie compared to some of the others on the list. When this one came out I loved it, it’s still the same Alice in Wonderland story but with Tim Burton as the director, it’s a dark storyline. It’s exactly what you’re hoping for from a Tim Burton film. I love him as a director, especially with actors such as Johnny Depp!

Zootropolis

The very first film I watched on Disney+ was Zootropolis, I forgot how good this film was! It’s still as good as the very first day I watched it. If you have not watched Zootropolis, where have you been? My favourite part is when Judy and Nick visit Department of Mammal Vehicles and all the workers are sloths! Who of course, go extra, extra slow, it’s a really funny scene.

There we go, those are my six current Disney+ picks. I really hope this gives you some ideas on things to watch while still in lockdown. I know we’re slowly going back to ‘normal’ but some of us are still at home, with not a lot to do! You’ll definitely be spoilt for choice, I haven’t even fully explored everything. There are many more hours watching great movies.

I hope you have enjoyed this post! What’s your favourite Disney TV show/movie?
