Goodbye May! Hello June!
I hope you and your family are safe and well. Can you believe June is here? What happened with May! I don’t know about you, but I feel like May went faster than April. Is that because I’ve gotten used to this whole lockdown thing? Well whatever it is, I’m happy for June. Normally June is a really good month, it’s full of car shows and it’s the start of Summer.
I’m not sure what June will bring but hopefully, whatever it is, it will be good! Of course, my Favourites are a little different at the moment, unfortunately, I haven’t been able to do much. This month’s Favourites includes just that, what I have loved throughout May. If you following me on Instagram, you might just recognise some of my Favourites as I’ve been sharing with you A LOT of content on Instagram.
What has been one of your Favourites from May? Let me know in the comments! I’ll love to know.
It’s time to reflect on my May Favourites:
Hello MG Car Club
This month has definitely been an interesting one. I started the month off by joining the team at the MG Car Club, yup that’s correct, I have a new job! I am now the Communications Administrator for the MG Car Club. I’m so thankful for this opportunity and I’m excited to start a new chapter in my life. If you know me well, I am an MG enthusiast, my first car was an MG ZR and now I own an MG 3, it’s in my blood. I’m very much looking forward to growing with them and the doors this could open for me.
All the comic books
I love a good comic book! Back in April, I picked up three different comic books, of course, to keep me going in lockdown. I have finally read them all! I’m sad to have finished them, I’m now looking for my next fix. I’m looking to purchase another haul. Just like books, once I start reading a comic book, I cannot finish. This month, I have been loving, Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica, The Umbrella Academy Hotel Oblivion and DC Bombshells: United Taps.
PS. for those who loved The Umbrella Academy on Netflix, season two is coming 31 July! I cannot wait! It feels like forever away.
Has anyone else been super productive during lockdown? I know I have and you can read all about my productive morning routine here. Another way I am keeping myself occupied is by going outside as much as I can. Recently we’ve had some amazing weather! I’m taking advantage of this and spending as much time as possible outside.
I have gone on some beautiful walks recently and explored new places. I’m so glad this month we’ve been able to travel to places, I was starting to get a little bored of my local area! One evening we walked along the canal and then the second, we visited Watermead Lake, it’s beautiful there. I cannot believe we’ve never been there before!
All the baking
Since the start of lockdown, I have baked a lot! More so than normal! I think it’s just another thing to do instead of watching Netflix all day. Also there’s nothing better than Bank Holiday baking. At the beginning of May, I baked Chocolate Chip Cupcakes, oh gosh, they were delicious! I love a good cupcake and these received the thumbs up from Yasmine. Next up, I baked All Spiced Cupcakes, I still have spices left over from the shortbread last year. These needed to be used up, so I thought why not! I’ve still got some milk and white chocolate chips to use up, there might be some more baking in June.
Well, with all this warm weather we’ve been having, we’ve taken advantage and enjoyed barbeques, yummy! We’ve continued from April and had some amazing barbeques, what’s not to like. I think there was a moment where we had barbeques three weeks in a row. Well, with warm weather, we definitely have to take advantage of it, who knows when that sun will disappear!
Growing up, I was a massive fan of Disney, to be honest, I still love all things Disney! Since Disney+ was launched I have been addicted, reminiscing childhood memories. I forgot how many Disney films I have watched over the years. I’ve watched all kinds of films on Disney+ since it launched from The Princess Diaries to Freaky Friday and Zootropolis to Pocahontas. I actually shared my favourites recently, if you love all things Disney, you should definitely check that out here.
In May, our car collection grew with the addition of Yasmine’s new daily car. She’s the proud owner of a Rover 45, the big brother to the Rover 25. Of course, Rover is in her blood so it’s no surprise really! By joining the MG Car Club, I am now the other direction to where she works, this means we can no longer car share, something we’ve been doing since I brought my MG 3.
As mentioned above, this month I came across Watermead Lake, I knew this place existed but I’ve never visited there. I’m not sure why as it’s a beautiful place! It took us just over twenty minutes to walk the length of the smaller lake, this is probably one third of the size of the bigger lake. I’m not sure if in this heat I would be able to walk around the whole lake. Instead we had a little picnic, thankfully the weather stayed nice for us and it wasn’t too warm! This is definitely a place we’re going to continue visiting, it reminds me of Plymouth, I think that’s because of the water more than anything.
I hope you have enjoyed this Favourites post! I know, it’s been a little quiet this month, thankfully not as quiet as April though. Most of that month was spent indoors! At least with May I have been able to enjoy this warm weather more and explore more places. I’m excited to see what June brings with it, but I’m holding out for the positives and not the negatives.
I hope you have enjoyed this review! What is one of your Favourites from April?
Love Gemma x
