Monthly Favourites // July 2020

Goodbye July! Hello August!

Ok I know it only feels like yesterday that I shared my June Favourites, well technically it was only two weeks ago! But here are my July Favourites. Normally, I would be saying, grab a cuppa and a biscuit, this is a long one but unfortunately, it’s not this time. July has been a little quiet, just like the other months! Although, July did actually go quite fast – I’ve still got an interesting Favourites post to share with you today.

I’m really looking forward to August, there’s even a couple of car shows planned. But before I move forward to August, I love reflecting on the previous month, yup that’s right I’m talking about my July Favourites. This month’s Favourites includes what I have loved throughout July. If you follow me on Instagram, you might just recognise some of my Favourites. What has been one of your Favourites from July? Let me know in the comments! I’ll love to know.

It’s time to reflect on my July Favourites:

Formula 1

Formula 1 is officially back! Oh its been a long time, we were treated to not just one but three races. OK it wasn’t the British Grand Prix but it was still racing! After four months of no racing, I’ll take anything. It definitely feels weird not having the British Grand Prix this month, also not being able to go to it when it is on the calendar. First up was the Austrian Grand Prix, we were treated to an amazing race!

McLaren on the podium, what’s not to love. Then we had the Steiermark Grand Prix, OK this was the Austrian Grand Prix but they had to call it something different. The last race of July was the Hungarian Grand Prix, so I’ve definitely had my racing this month! Although, I’m more looking forward to August as we’ve got double British Grand Prix and the British Touring Car Championship is back. What’s not to love?

Kimber House

OK so back in May, I joined the MG Car Club, you can find out more about that in my Monthly Favourites // May 2020, but since then I’ve been working from home due to Coronavirus. This has been very weird! Normally the first couple of weeks you get to know everyone and how things work. Well finally after nearly three months working from home, I joined the team at Kimber House. The days there have been going so quick, it’s amazing to finally be there and getting to know everyone. Also I’m now learning loads more and there’s so much history at Kimber House.

Brownies

I’ve realised that I’ve done quiet a lot of baking during lockdown! This month was no different, it was time to bake some brownies, thanks McLaren F1 Team for the recipe. OK it was definitely an interesting experience! First we put too much mixture in the baking tin and it wouldn’t cook, so then we put the burnt mixture in a different tin to try and actually cook the mixture! In the end, we did get there, at least I know what to do next time. Also I never thought to put yogurt in brownies, it actually tasted really nice, who would have thought?

Silverstone Experience

I’ve saved the best till last I think, I finally visited the Silverstone Experience Centre! It’s such a beautiful and magical place, especially if you’re a massive motorsports fan. Of course, if you know me, I spend most of my life at Silverstone. I was in awe with this place, it doesn’t look much from the outside but once you step inside, wow it’s huge! There’s so much on display and to look out, also it’s very interactive for children and big kids alike. I didn’t visit pre-lockdown but the measures they have in place for COVID is great, they’ve really thought about everything.

I hope you have enjoyed this Favourites post! I’m very glad things are starting to pick up, I suppose returning to Kimber House helps with that to get into some form of routine. July has been a great month, I’m sure you can tell from my Favourites. As mentioned above, I’m excited to see what August brings with it, but I’m holding out for the positives and not the negatives. August might actually be the most ‘normal’ month since March! Of course, whatever ‘normal’ looks like now.

I hope you have enjoyed this review! What is one of your Favourites from July?
