What’s in my handbag // Winter Edition

It’s been over one year since I shared what’s in my backpack so I thought now would be a good time to share again what’s in my handbag but a Winter edition. I’m sure you’ll notice one change, I’m talking about a handbag and not a backpack anymore! I’m actually quite impressed with myself how long I kept the backpack for. That’s probably why it was looking a bit sorry for itself.

This handbag is pretty big! I carry so much around with me, you’ll notice that from this post. A big handbag is a must for me! I cannot have anything smaller unless I’m going out for the evening, I only own one small handbag but it can still fit my purse, notebook and all my essential items. I am a nosy one, I love looking into people’s bags and I hope you like this post too.

Here’s what’s in my handbag for Wintertime:

I’ll be here forever if I listed every single item in my handbag so here’s a quick overview! I don’t think it would be my handbag if I didn’t have at least one notebook. I received this initial G notebook from my Secret Santa at work, it’s very handy to have in my notebook. I know we’ve got our phones but there’s still something about writing it down! I am also in love with my 2020 Planner, I love the month and week view along with the areas for notes with each month.

It’s also in this beautiful teal colour that is just so me! I saw this in Homesense and I fell in love so had to purchase it. Normally I look around but as soon as I spied this one, it was the one for me. Then there’s just some essentials – comb, metal straw and my glasses cleaning cloth. Also, my simple but effective purse that houses everything I need, I love this purse style. I am so certain about my purse but I’m very glad I came across this one.

Next is a load of random but important items:

  • Face Mist from The Body Shop to leave my face feeling cool in the warmer months
  • Rescue Spray to calm me down in those panic moments
  • Strawberry Hand Cream from The Body Shop to always have smooth hands
  • Dr PAWPAW to relive my lips when feeling dry
  • Last but no means least, tissues and paracetamol.

Now one piece of my handbag that is new, my makeup bag. If you’ve read my Monthly Favourites // January 2020, you’ll know that I’ve recently been using foundation, the L’Oréal True Match to be exact. This has provided me with such confidence and I’m feeling so much better about myself. Along with my new skincare range, my face has been looking better than ever!

Now I’ve slowly been introducing new items to my makeup range, I now use No7 Airbrush Away Primer and Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara. Soon I might even do a mini haul and my first proper review for makeup, please let me know in the comments if this is something of interest. Keep an eye out for that one – may be coming soon! Also inside my bag is wipes, brush and mirror, because you never know when you’ll need a touch up on the road.

I hope you have enjoyed this what’s in my handbag post. What are your winter essentials?

Also, make sure to follow me on my blog (in the sidebar) and don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin’FacebookInstagram and Twitter.

Must-See Movies of 2020

Around this time last year, I shared my Must-See Movies of 2019. It’s no secret that I’m a massive film buff! I’m sure at least two Monthly Favourites last year featured a movie I loved. There’s nothing better than visiting the cinema with a loved one. 2019 was a great year for movies, some of my favourites were Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Ford v Ferrari and Toy Story 4, they really killed it with all the movies.

Just a quick update, I was able to watch all eight movies I added to my Must-See Movies of 2019. I think that’s pretty good going if I say so myself! There were even some extra ones that at the beginning of the year I didn’t even know were coming out, that’s right, I’m looking at you The Joker. Every month was a new movie which was great as I was able to escape from the real world.

2020 Blogging Goals

Last week, I shared my 2020 Personal Goals, it’s now time for my 2020 Blogging Goals. A range of Goals that I would love to achieve over the course of 2020 with my blog and social media platforms. 2019 was an OK year for An Ocean Glimmer, the only milestone I achieved was reaching 20k all-time views. Unfortunately, it was an up and down year, with some months not even posting once!

I have everything crossed for 2020, I’m very excited to see what happens this year. Let’s hope it’s a good one. From where I am now, things can only go up! I have all of January mapped out and already some plans in place for February. I know that the barrier to new content will come soon though, if there’s anything, in particular, you would love to see on An Ocean Glimmer, please let me know in the comments!

2020 Personal Goals

It’s no surprise that I love creating Goals, over the past twelve months, I have shared with you my Monthly Goals, these, in turn, help me to achieve both my Personal and Blogging Goals. January is the perfect month to create Goals for the whole year. Of course, that’s because it is, in fact, the start of the year! Also, there’s just something fresh and exciting about January.

Today, I am reflecting on my Personal Goals that I set at the beginning of 2019 and then creating new ones for 2020. 2019 was the first year I did this and to be honest, I’m very glad I did! It helped me to stay on track in the year and who doesn’t love achieving something. Then each month I’m helping to keep on track with my Goals by breaking them down monthly.

This Time Next Year Tag 2020

Has it really been one whole year since I posted This Time Next Year Tag 2019 on An Ocean Glimmer? 2019 went super quick, I still cannot believe it’s a new year and new decade. I can remember when I first shared the This Time Next Year Tag all the way back in 2017, that was when I first came across the tag and fell in love with the idea behind it.

What is the This Time Next Year Tag I hear you say? Well, it’s a tag created by Sarah Lemmon, aka Little Reader, it’s basically inspired by a British TV Show where you see people present their goals for next year. Then it flashes forward 365 days later to see if they have achieved them.

What I Received for Christmas 2019

I’m really excited to share with you today, what I received for Christmas, now I don’t want this to be a ‘show off’ post. I want it to be a reflection of my Christmas and thankful for what I received. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas! Mine was lovely, I spent Christmas Eve with my Grandparents, Christmas Day with my parents and then Boxing Day with Yasmine and my Uncle.

I don’t want to go into too much detail here as I spoke about Christmas in my December Favourites. Check that post out here!

Looking Back on 2019: My Year in Review

Goodbye 2019, Hello 2020!

Not only is it a New Year but it’s also a new decade! I hope you had a lovely start to January, it’s one of my favourite months of the year as it’s perfect for reviewing what happened and how you can improve. Also, it’s really quiet! I love this as I can wind down before the excitement of the Summer which is one of the fast pace times of the year. Also, I’m able to catch up on my blogging game!

Before we move forward to 2020, I thought it would be good to look back on 2019 and review my favourite moments. I know I shared my Monthly Favourites, well most months, so really it’s just one big summary of all those months. I would be here forever if I shared EVERYTHING. So I’ll only be sharing one or two special moments from the month. Some months this was hard as soo much happened!
