Book Review // Link*

[AD GIFTED]

It feels like yesterday where I shared my last book review here on An Ocean Glimmer. Oh wait, it was only last week! That’s right, I shared with you my thoughts on Cutlass and Flintlock by Ashley Nixon. Today, I will be reviewing Link by Summer Wier, I’m super excited to share this one with you today. This review opportunity has been made possible by Lola’s Blog Tours.

My productive morning routine

Has anyone else been having productive mornings since the start of lockdown? Now I have an extra two hours in the morning before work, rather than travelling to work, my mornings have been completely different. I know I could have a line in but I prefer to be productive in the mornings. Also, I’m still going to bed the same time, so why not a couple of hours to my self.

I hope I can keep this routine going after lockdown but it will be difficult Monday to Friday with travelling to work. I can see this continuing Saturday and Sunday though, we will have to see! I recently shared ways to keep busy during the lockdown, but I didn’t explain what my mornings are like. How is your quarantine going? Let me know in the comments!

Ways to keep busy during the lockdown

Here in the UK, we have been in lockdown since Monday 23 March. With working in PR and Marketing, I have been able to continue working, Monday to Friday, from home of course. It’s been an interesting one as in the past, it’s only been one or two days maximum. So I haven’t had very much downtime during the week to think, what should I do today?

I know there are a lot of people who unfortunately have been furloughed, Yasmine is one of them so I thought today I would share with you some ways to keep busy during the lockdown. Just remember, we’re all in this together and if you need someone to speak to, I am always here. I’m lucky as I live with family but I know some people are on their own.

Monthly Goals // April 2020

Goodbye March! Hello April!

I hope you’ve had a lovely start to April. As it’s the beginning of a new month, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the Goals I set myself at the beginning of March. Then create new Goals for April, which is going to be an odd month! I love setting new Goals, they get you excited for the upcoming month.

If you want to see what I got up to in March, I have shared my adventures in my Monthly Favourites // March 2020 here. It’s great to review and reflect each month, sometimes you even forget what you’ve done. March was a OK month, the world is a strange one at the moment. I don’t think any of us know if we’re coming or going.

Before I set myself some new Goals for April, let’s reflect on my March Goals!

My Year in Books 2019

For the past 3 years, I have set myself a challenge on Goodreads, each year I have done pretty well I would say! I’m not one of those who set massive Goals, for me they always have to be realistic. As we’re into a new year, I thought now would be a good time to review my 2019 Goodreads Challenge. Once I’ve reflected on last year, I’ll be moving ahead to 2020 and setting this year Goodreads Challenge.

At the beginning of 2019, I set myself the Goal of reading 20 books. For some people, this could sound like a small Goal but after completing my 2018 Goodreads Challenge of reading 15 books, 20 books sounded a good Goal for the next year. Unfortunately, 2019 was not my year for books, I was only able to read 7 books, 8 less than the year before. There was just so much going on AND as you know, there were a lot of months where I did not blog.

I love Goodreads as it keeps you on track but also provides some great insights afterwards. That’s exactly what I’m going to go through with you today.
