Goodbye March! Hello April!
March has been such an odd month… I’m not sure about yours but for me, it’s just been everywhere. I’ve never experienced a month like it, I know you know what I’m talking about. You just need to keep moving and think happy things, that’s one reason why I’ve been able to keep up my blogging game. Before moving forward to April, now is a great time to review what I did in March with my Monthly Favourites. Although, not a lot happened! My Favourites is exactly that, what I loved in March.
It’s time to reflect on March.
I think now is more important than ever to introduce self care habits into your life. We’re all struggling at the moment, I’m not going to go into detail but I’m sure you know what I’m talking about! Today I thought I would share just a couple of self care habits I’m introducing into my life, hopefully I can inspire you to introduce these into your life.
But first, what is self care?
Self-care is defined as “the practice of taking an active role in protecting one’s own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress.”
It’s great to have a Goal in mind, not just a daily or weekly one but yearly as well. I love creating Goals, I feel so inspired and it’s a great way to continue achieving. Back in July, I shared with you my 2019 Fitness Goals, here I outlined exactly what I wanted to achieve over the course of the year. Now we’re in May, it’s the perfect time to reflect on my Fitness Goals and provide an update on progress.
I know I share my Monthly Goals but this doesn’t show the overall year story. When I’m setting my Monthly Goals, I try and keep my 2019/20 Goals in mind. It can be hard achieving your Goals, especially if it’s one you want to achieve in one year. Your Goals can be a lot easier to achieve if you think about them monthly. If you don’t create Monthly Goals, I would recommend starting now.
Goodbye February! Hello March!
I hope you’ve had a lovely start to March. As it’s the beginning of a new month, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the Goals I set myself at the beginning of February. Then create new Goals for March, I’m really excited about the upcoming month. It’s going to be a good one – I’m looking forward to the weather getting that warmer, hopefully. There are some exciting things planned for March.

I hope you’ve had a wonderful month – I’m not going to lie, it’s been up and down. It’s been another quiet month, but I’m happy with that! Especially when looking at my calendar for the rest of 2020. I’m looking forward to March, there are some exciting things happening. Before moving forward to March, now is a great time to review what I did in February with my Monthly Favourites.
It’s time to reflect on what happened in February.
Is there anyone that doesn’t love a good binge-watch session!? Whether that’s a favourite boxset or a brand new series on Netflix, I love just cuddling up on the sofa and watching a new series. Recently Netflix has been killing it with their programmes! Some amazing series have appeared, both old favourites and brand new series. Least with Netflix they upload every episode so you’re able to binge-watch a series. Back in April last year, I shared with you my Current Netflix Top Picks – it’s that time of year to share again.
I’m really excited to share these with you today – hopefully, you’ll come across a couple you’ve been wanting to watch or completely new to you. Winter is the perfect time of year for binge-watching! Grab a blanket, cuddle up on the sofa and watch a movie or even binge-watch one of the many series on Netflix. I’ve watched so much recently! Another reason for sharing my Current Top Picks with you. One minute with Netflix there’s hardly anything, then the next there are so many shows to watch you just don’t have the time!

Goodbye January! Hello February!
January has felt like the longest month ever! I’m glad it’s now February, there are some exciting things happening this month. Before moving forward to February, now is a great time to review what I did in January with my Monthly Favourites. January was a quiet month but that’s a good thing, my diary for the next couple of months is looking busy!
For the past 3 years, I have set myself a challenge on Goodreads, each year I have done pretty well I would say! I’m not one of those who set massive Goals, for me they always have to be realistic. As we’re into a new year, I thought now would be a good time to review my 2019 Goodreads Challenge. Once I’ve reflected on last year, I’ll be moving ahead to 2020 and setting this year Goodreads Challenge.
At the beginning of 2019, I set myself the Goal of reading 20 books. For some people, this could sound like a small Goal but after completing my 2018 Goodreads Challenge of reading 15 books, 20 books sounded a good Goal for the next year. Unfortunately, 2019 was not my year for books, I was only able to read 7 books, 8 less than the year before. There was just so much going on AND as you know, there were a lot of months where I did not blog.
I love Goodreads as it keeps you on track but also provides some great insights afterwards. That’s exactly what I’m going to go through with you today.

Last week, I shared my 2020 Personal Goals, it’s now time for my 2020 Blogging Goals. A range of Goals that I would love to achieve over the course of 2020 with my blog and social media platforms. 2019 was an OK year for An Ocean Glimmer, the only milestone I achieved was reaching 20k all-time views. Unfortunately, it was an up and down year, with some months not even posting once!
I have everything crossed for 2020, I’m very excited to see what happens this year. Let’s hope it’s a good one. From where I am now, things can only go up! I have all of January mapped out and already some plans in place for February. I know that the barrier to new content will come soon though, if there’s anything, in particular, you would love to see on An Ocean Glimmer, please let me know in the comments!
It’s no surprise that I love creating Goals, over the past twelve months, I have shared with you my Monthly Goals, these, in turn, help me to achieve both my Personal and Blogging Goals. January is the perfect month to create Goals for the whole year. Of course, that’s because it is, in fact, the start of the year! Also, there’s just something fresh and exciting about January.
Today, I am reflecting on my Personal Goals that I set at the beginning of 2019 and then creating new ones for 2020. 2019 was the first year I did this and to be honest, I’m very glad I did! It helped me to stay on track in the year and who doesn’t love achieving something. Then each month I’m helping to keep on track with my Goals by breaking them down monthly.
