My Blogging Journey

There have been things that have been and gone in my life, but one thing that I’ve been consistent and proud of is my blogging journey. I can’t take credit for this post idea, Jenny in Neverland recently shared her blogging journey and I loved the idea of sharing how I started, my favourite moments and the future. Thank-you Jenny for sharing your journey! It was such an insightful post and I am so proud of everything you’ve achieved.

I started An Ocean Glimmer in October 2013, for college I had to create a blog to showcase my writing. As this was something I had to do, I never had the passion like I do now, I didn’t last long before stopping. When I was writing for The Checkered Flag I would share a mini blurb and direct traffic to The Checkered Flag. I didn’t restart An Ocean Glimmer probably until May 2016 with my very first post, Free Comic Book Day 2016.

If you live in the UK, you’ll know how hot it has been recently, with temperatures hitting higher than 30°C as a sizzling heatwave grips the country. We all love soaking up the sun, whether that’s in the UK or abroad but unfortunately, it doesn’t come without its consequences. There are so many products on the market to include in your morning / evening routine, that it’s hard to understand which product to use. With so many different companies all telling you that their product will reduce problems we women love to hate. For as long as I can remember, I have always had problems with my skin, leading to me going on the search for the best skincare products.

In mid-June, I signed up for the 4 Week Challenge with Fade Out, the journey towards skin confidence. I was a little unsure at first about the Challenge as with sensitive skin, I have to be very careful about the type of products I use. I’m glad I was able to choose the correct products for my skin type and no sooner than signing up, I had received my products.

Now here I am one month later and the 4 Week Challenge is complete! I thought I would share my thoughts and feelings with you about these products. Has my skin become brighter? Do I agree with what they’re promising? Please keep reading!

Altruist Dermatologist Sunscreen

Can you believe the weather we’ve had recently!? Finally, Spring has come to the UK. It seems like we’ve been waiting forever for it to warm up, it wasn’t that long ago that the UK was six feet under snow and we grounded to a halt. Now with this mini heatwave, everyone has been enjoying themselves out in the sun. Whilst it’s nice to be outdoors, enjoying the weather, it’s important to stay protected from the harmful UV rays which can cause skin cancer.

There are a lot of different sunscreens to chose from and this can make it confusing, to help you understand the best sunscreen for your skin, there are different guides out there. Especially as they aren’t all created equally and some have better protection than others. With having fair skin, I am always using sunscreen as I’m more sensitive to the sun and I’ve learnt the hard way in the past. Having sunburn can be really painful and increases the risk of skin cancer.
