I am pretty much always on the search for new products, I’m not sure about you but isn’t it lovely trying a new product every so often. I especially like this if they’re on some kind of offer or even a gift from someone. Recently I was gifted Shower Foam Pink Melon from Bilou, a German beauty range created by Bibi. I’ve heard so many great things about this brand as well as their products, so I was very excited to try it!
If you’ve been following An Ocean Glimmer for a little while, you’ll know that I use a couple of products from the Tea Tree skin care range from The Body Shop. I posted a review of their Tea Tree range over a year ago when I first started using their products. I thought I would update you as there have been some new introductions to my routine. Before we get into this review, I just wanted to give you a little background.
I suffer from blemished skin, I have always been trying to find a routine that works for me. It’s been tricky as nothing I purchased was working or did the opposite effect and made my skin worse. It got to the point where I was really suffering, meaning I had to go a little bit more upmarket to find a solution.
This is where my trip to The Body Shop came in, I’m not going to bore you too much with what you might have already read so let’s get started with my new routine!
Recently I came across Gracie Saunderson on Twitter, she was on the search for bloggers to review her handmade makeup bags. Now I’ve reviewed a lot of blogger businesses on my blog, including The Birdhouse Calligraphy and Juniper Daze Designs, so I jumped at the chance to collaborate with Gracie. I love reviewing these businesses as I feel they don’t get enough credit as they should! They are just as amazing as big brands that we all know, so why not share the love.
Before we get to my review of the Azure makeup bag from Gracie, I thought I would speak a little bit about her. Gracie has always had a passion for makeup and beauty, in 2014 she went on a course to become a professional makeup artist. She is now qualified in Manicures, Pedicures, CND Nails and Eyebrow Tinting. It was in 2015 where she started her own business creating handmade makeup bags after she felt there was a gap in the market for practical yet pretty and affordable makeup bags.
I know what you’re all thinking, Christmas! But it’s only October, well I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s seen all the Christmas cards, chocolate, presents already in the shops! I think we’re all starting to celebrate Christmas a little earlier, instead of it being after Halloween, everything starts appearing in September. As you can already tell by the heading, I’m going to be showing you some of the products you can get your hands on from MAD Beauty this Christmas.
I received a very good selection of just some of the products you can put on your Christmas wishlist, from Bon Bon Bath Fizzers from their Modern Christmas collection to a Hand Care Set in the scent Cranberry, three cute little Lip Balms and latest Rose Bath Petals from their Disney Beauty & the Beast Collection. When I opened the parcel, it felt a lot like Christmas! The packaging all screams Christmas, it felt like a little early for this parcel though.
Ever since I can remember, I’ve always celebrated Christmas after my Birthday on 25 November. It just makes sense, to be honest. The Bath Petals were a little random to receive with the other products but at the same time, I was excited to have received them. Before I get into the Christmas Haul, I want to chat a little about MAD Beauty, they are the leader in design led cosmetics for both the gift and professional sectors. With them all working tirelessly to provide a wide range of novel, fun and interesting products.
I find that a lot of people feel my hair is straight, whereas myself I find it to be very fluffy! I don’t like not blow drying my hair, as it’s quite long so for it to naturally dry, it seems to take forever. The day after my hair is very fluffy and this is what I hate about my hair! But this is where hair straightener comes in, I don’t always straighten my hair as I don’t seem to have the time. I’ve been using the same Babyliss straighteners since I was in school, so it was time to invest in a new pair. I recently received the xtava Pro-Satin Infrared Straightener to review here on An Ocean Glimmer.
I was a little unsure at first as I’ve never heard of the brand before, so I didn’t know if they would be any good! I’m not sure about you but I always buy from brands that I know I can trust, as I said my previous hair straighteners were Babyliss and my hairdryer is from TRESemme. I looked up the brand after putting my order through and it seems like a lot of bloggers are speaking very good things about xtava! Which meant I was looking forward to getting my hairs on my xtava straighteners.
Here we are, another month has gone passed, meaning a whole new list of favourites! I am really excited to share with you what I’ve been loving during August, as you all know I recently moved to Aylesbury and this month marked one whole month here. I have settled in really well and things are looking up for both me and Peter. I can not believe how quickly this year is going, it feels like yesterday that I was getting myself ready to move.
Enough chit chat, let’s get started on my August Favourites;
