March 2017 – World Book Day

When I was in primary school, I could remember all the national days, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter, them all, only because school reminded me when they were around the corner. One day that I used to always love was World Book Day because it was packed with fun activities and of course we were allowed to dress up as our favourite book character!

I thought I would take a little trip down memory lane and speak all about this celebration of authors, books, illustrators and of course reading! Tomorrow, Thursday 2 March marks the twentieth celebration of this day. I actually thought it was older than this, I never realised it was something that I had grown up with as I’m twenty-two this year.

This week’s topic is Favourite Childhood book. When I was growing up, I used to hate reading. See English was my least favourite subject, you wouldn’t think that now though. When I was in Year 3, my favourite teacher understood my problem and was on hand to help me to improve.
