Blogmas Day 14 // Christmas Decorating

I love decorating for Christmas! It makes your home feel very festive and it definitely gets you into the spirit. I finally decorated, even though I said I would last week, it was definitely worth it as I felt really good afterwards. With moving in with my Uncle in Aylesbury, this meant I was able to decorate the Christmas Tree downstairs, normally Mum always did this.

If you were following An Ocean Glimmer last year, you’ll know I decorated my room, if you want to see how I decorated last year, check out my post here. Unfortunately, I won’t be using my decorations this year as they seem to have disappeared after moving! I knew I should have taken them with me, rather than leaving them at my parents. I am a little disappointed as I loved my decorations, especially my chalkboard countdown.

I am really excited to show you how I’ve decorated for Christmas 2017! It’s really special this year as it’s mine and Yasmine’s first Christmas in Aylesbury, I’m already excited about all the Christmas lights, now just to get my home decorated. Shall we get started?

Blogmas 2017 // Introduction

The countdown is most definitely on for Christmas, in 26 days we will be sat with our families opening our presents while eating a lot of food. This year Christmas is going to be special and a little different, as I am waking up in a new home and will have to travel to see my parents. As you know a lot has changed over the last four months, I moved from Plymouth to Aylesbury.

I finally found a full-time job! I also graduated from the University of St Mark & St John with a 2.1 in BA (Hons) Journalism. It’s definitely gone quickly and soon it will be a whole new year. If you were following An Ocean Glimmer around this time last year, you might just recognise the blog title. Yes, that’s right, it’s that time of year! It’s time to start Blogmas 2017.

Why I Started Blogging

With the two-year anniversary of An Ocean Glimmer fast approaching, I thought I would explain Why I Started Blogging, now I know all bloggers write about this, but for me, I love this as you know a blogger on more of a personal level. Of course, everyone has different reasons for starting their blog. I feel blogging is kind of losing its value, becoming more about the money and products, rather than the love and passion.

Officially I started blogging five years ago when I was in my first year of College studying Media, we were told it was a good platform to impress future employers. We could either chose Blogspot or WordPress, I couldn’t get along with either so I went for Tumblr. Now it was nothing special over there, it was just small reviews here and there about movies and games.

2016 Highlights & Recap

Before you can move forward with the New Year, I think it’s always good to look back on the previous year to see your achievements. Looking at it, 2016 has been quite a successful year for me! A lot has happened and I am really proud of myself. I thought I would share with you today my highlights of 2016.

Blogmas Christmas Day // Merry Christmas

I hope you’ve had a wonderful week, do you know what day it is? It is only Christmas Day! I’ve been waiting for this day for a while and it’s finally here. It does mean though, that it is the end of Blogmas 2016. I know a sad moment, as I’ve really enjoyed it and I will miss it.

Christmas is bar far my favourite time of the year, I adore everything that comes along with this festive period. The food, being with friends and family and of course, seeing everyone’s faces when they open their presents. The main part about Christmas is of course the decorating, it’s been a family tradition that we always decorate at the beginning of December.
