I swear 2018 is going really quick, like can you believe it’s already May. This month is going to be a busy and hopefully fun one, I’m going to be creating some great memories this month with Yasmine. A new month means there’s a new Reading Challenge created by the Blogger Book Nook. This month’s Reading Challenge is a little different and something special.
May is the birthday month for both Tabitha and Abbey, Happy Birthday to the both of you! Meaning they wanted to pick their favourite genre Historical Fiction. Hop in your time machine and pick a read that’s set in the past – whether it’s as early as the 90’s or if you go back thousands of years, the choice is yours! I’m excited to indulge in a book of this genre, as it’s definitely an interesting genre.
We receive our monthly Reading Challenge from either Abbey or Tabitha, two of the kindest girls, on the Facebook page. Here we have some great conversations and are able to talk books! This is also the perfect opportunity to get to know new bloggers, ones that have a similar interest, books and reading.
May is definitely turning into a good month! I’m excited to be sharing with you today my thoughts on The Development by Jackie Kabler. I’m trying my hardest to read at least one book each month, to reach my Goodreads Reading Challenge of fifteen books in 2018. This month is very strong for this as I’m participating in three different Blog Book Tour. First, I read The Planetsider, then I read SHINE, I planned these well seeing as it’s Get Caught Reading Month.
This blog book tour is hosted by Jenny Marston, over at Neverland Blog Tours, I have found some new loves since participating in book tours. Today is no different as I am the first stop on The Development Blog Tour hosted by Jenny, I am also sharing today with Oh Hay! Blogs and Everywhere & Nowhere so please check out their blogs to read what they thought.
How are you all enjoying Get Caught Reading Month so far? If you missed my post last week, you won’t know anything about what I just asked you! Get Caught Reading Month is a nationwide campaign to promote the fun of reading books for all ages. I won’t go into too much detail here, as I spoke quite a lot about it within the post.
Today, I am sharing my thoughts on SHINE thanks to participating in the Book Blog Tour hosted by The Book Publicist, I am the fifth stop on the Blog Tour. Now before I get into my review, I just wanted to speak a little about SHINE this is definitely a book that is a little different from the normal books I read. I love anything Supernatural, Thriller and even Mystery but this is completely opposite at non-fiction.
With a new month here, it means it’s time to set some new Goals for the upcoming month. I love writing down my Goals each month as it really helps me to stay on target for my 2018 Personal and Blogging Goals. I’ve had a lovely April, you can find out what I’ve been loving here with my April Favourites. Here, I share with you what I’ve been up to as well as products I’ve been loving.
For today’s post though, it’s all about my Monthly Goals! I’ve had a really strong month, I have achieved a lot of different things, but are they the same as what I set out to achieve at the beginning of April. It’s good to also reflect on your previous Goals, this helps to see if you’ve been on target throughout the month and gives you an indication of where you need to go for the next month.
Before I set myself some new Goals for May, let’s reflect on my April Goals!

It only feels like yesterday that it was January, now we’re starting May. Spring is definitely here and hopefully, it will stick around for a little while. I’m really enjoying sharing with you different National Day/Month, you get to learn something new and exciting. May marks Get Caught Reading Month, a nationwide campaign to promote the fun of reading books for all ages.
The campaign was launched in 1999 by the Association of American Publishers and now managed by Every Child a Reader with support from the Lois Lenski Covey Foundation. To celebrate Get Caught Reading Month is really easy you just need to dig your nose into a book and forget about the concerns of other peoples’ opinions. Get Caught Reading Month is a great chance to meet other bibliophiles as well!
Well here we are, it’s officially May! Can you believe that!? I know I can’t. If you’ve been following An Ocean Glimmer for a while, you’ll know that each month, I review a different book. Something that is good to do once in a while is think about the things that make you happy, it’s good to appreciate the things and people that are around you. I swear there isn’t enough self-love and thinking about the things around you, sometimes you don’t realise how much you love something until it’s gone.
Today I thought it would be nice to share what makes me happy, there’s a variety of things that if I didn’t have or were gone from my life, I would definitely miss!

It’s that time of the month again, it’s time to indulge in a book that relates to the Monthly Reading Challenge created by the Blogger Book Nook. This month’s Reading Challenge is a little different and took a while to find a book that could relate to Murder in the Library. Meaning April is all about entering the twisting, turning tunnels of Crime and Thriller Fiction, asking the question WHO DUNNIT?!
I’m excited to indulge in a book of this genre, as it’s definitely an interesting genre. We receive our monthly Reading Challenge from either Abbey or Tabitha, two of the kindest girls, on the Facebook page. Here we have some great conversations and are able to talk books!
