Monthly Favourites // October 2018

Hello November! Goodbye October!

The past month has been kind to me, I’ve still been very busy and enjoying a lot of different things. At moments October has felt a long month but now looking back, it’s gone really quickly! October has always been a good month, for me, Autumn kicks off and I can start enjoying the holidays.

Before we go full steam ahead for November, let’s first review October as I said above, there’s quite a lot to share with you! One thing first, I hope you all enjoyed Halloween and hopefully had a load of goodies. I’m really excited for November as it’s my birthday month! Even though it’s getting colder, I’ve still got exciting outdoor plans.

Missed my September Favourites? Head over here to see what I was loving
during the month.

Shall we get started with my October Favourites?

Trax Silverstone | The month wouldn’t be complete without visiting Silverstone, this month I attended Trax with Yasmine. It was great to be there as a member of the public and wander around looking at all the cars. Even though it was in October, the weather was kind to us. There were some great cars and of course, the track action was great.

Blogiversary | This month I celebrated five years of An Ocean Glimmer! This is a great moment, I can’t believe it. Techniquely I have only been blogging consistently since around October last year. I have gone from strength to strength, now here I am. I recently shared My Blogging Journey where I shared some memorable moments since starting.

Milton Keynes | At the beginning of October, I had a grand 12 days holiday to take between now and Christmas. This led to me booking random days off here and there so I didn’t lose them. I used one day to explore Milton Keynes and actually wander around. I did some Christmas shopping and just looked around the different stores, I forgot how many good stores there were out there!

Millets Farm | No October is complete without visiting a Pumpkin Patch to pick up your very own Pumpkin! This is what myself and Yasmine did as we took our very first trip to a Patch down at Millet’s Farm. This was actually one of my October Goals, and I’m pleased to say we went. It was such a lovely time, it was soo busy as well as everyone was also getting ready for Halloween.

Supercar Saturday | It’s been quite quiet for car shows recently with my MG Rover family, unfortunately, now living five hours away I can’t just pop down. The only time we go to a car show with the South West club is whether it’s around the Bristol area. We popped down to Castle Combe for the day for Supercar Saturday 2018.

This car show supports the Stoke Association which is a great cause to support. I even had the opportunity to be a passenger in a Corvette C7, a car I was lusting over the first time I saw it. I just had to! Being driven around a circuit is the perfect thing, especially as a car addict, it went incredibly fast and sounded amazing.

Halloween | Happy Halloween! I hope you all had a lovely evening, hopefully, didn’t eat too many sweets. My Halloween was pretty quiet really a total of two trick or treaters, does mean more sweets for ourselves! We’ve still got most of them now. Yes, I did carve my pumpkin, pretty simple all I did was use a screwdriver to create holes, was very effective. Also, I made some Halloween shortbread, they weren’t that scary! Featured vanilla and shaped like cats and pumpkins.

I hope you have enjoyed this Favourites post! It’s always crazy how much you do over a course of a month. I love looking at my Instagram to help me reflect on the previous month. October has been a cracking month, I’ve loved every minute of it and done some exciting things. I’m excited for November, first thing first it’s my birthday month! I’m going to be doing still so much and getting prepared for Christmas.

I hope you have enjoyed this review! What is one of your
Favourites from October?

Goodbye Plymouth

I’m sorry things haven’t been perfect on An Ocean Glimmer at the moment, I’ve just been a little preoccupied with moving to a different part of the United Kingdom. Some of you may know that I used to live in Plymouth, a city in the South West of England. I have lived here my whole life, I have ever only known one house, so it’s been a pretty big thing to move five hours.

As I was receiving offers for interviews around the London/Reading area, I thought it would be good to live with my Uncle in Aylesbury. This does mean though I won’t be living with my parents, sisters and the puppy dog, who I will miss dearly. This all means more differences in my life, something I’m needing to get used to. But it’s all a part of growing up, I’m really excited by this especially to experience it with the partner

I feel like I’ve finally settled in and things are looking bright for myself and Peter, who also moved from Plymouth to live with myself in Aylesbury. Which means a new chapter in our lives together, something that I’m hoping will go well. Seeing as I lived in Plymouth for 21 years, I thought I would sum up some of the things I would miss.
