Despite either watching motorsports or attending events at Silverstone pretty much every weekend, I don’t near enough share motorsports content on An Ocean Glimmer. I am such a massive fan of Formula 1, World Endurance Championship and British Touring Car Championship, all championships that I fall in love more each time I watch. This passion led to me becoming a Silverstone Race Maker, I’ve spoken about this volunteer program just a couple of times here, showing my passion and exactly how much I love it!
I even shared an Introduction post here, before continuing this post you should definitely read this. I’m going into more detail about this program for this post. I haven’t done a post like this before, but I thought it would be good to share my typical day, including what happens and exactly what this program is all about. Of course, one event to the next can be different depending on the event. With this post, I’m just going to be generic. I hope you enjoy!
Here we are, the beginning of a new month, can you believe that it’s now September. I know I can’t! We are slowly approaching my favourite season, Autumn, I can not wait for the coming weeks. Jumpers, hot chocolate and cosy nights in, what more could a girl as for. Before jumping too far into the future, we first need to review what happened in August and let me tell you, there’s a couple of good ones.
Missed my July Favourites? Head over here to see what I was loving
during the month.
I have always loved to travel, there’s just something about travelling to a different country that makes me smile! Even though I’m 22 years old, I have only been abroad to three places, Gran Canaria, Majorca and Italy, all within five years. I would love to travel to more places but with money problems, it’s definitely hard too!
Travelling abroad definitely has its perks and reasons for enjoying, Yasmine has pretty much been everywhere but for her, she would always go abroad every year. Where on the flip side for me, I didn’t go abroad until I met her and I went with her family. I thought today I would share with you a couple of places I would love to travel to.
There are some great places in the world and I want to see them! Shall we begin?
A new month means new adventures and new Goals for the upcoming month, can you believe it’s now August? Hopefully, this month will be a little bit quieter than July so I can focus on my Goals. I will admit now that most of them have been unsuccessful because I have been so busy with other things. I’m definitely going to push myself this month to fingers crossed, achieve them all.
Today I will be reflecting on the Goals I set myself for July and creating some new ones for August. July has definitely been a great month and things have been just a little busy, it does feel like I’ve been at Silverstone each weekend! I have not stopped and it’s gone so quick to think it’s now August, I’m excited for the upcoming month. You can learn all about what I’ve been loving throughout July here.
I’m not sure about you, but July has been an amazing month! I knew it was going to be an exciting and busy month, this month always seems to go fast. I swear every weekend I was doing something if you follow me on my social media channels, I’m sure you already know what I’m speaking about! I love sharing my Favourites each month as it’s the perfect opportunity to reflect on the past month.
Missed my June Favourites? Head over here to see what I was loving
during the month.
I hope you’re all having a lovely June! Can you believe it’s already halfway through the month? Now it gets excited as next week I’m going home and then the week after I’m at Silverstone for the Formula 1 British Grand Prix. Here is my first book review and blog book tour of the month. One that I’m actually really excited to be a part of because I’ve fallen in love with this book!
This blog book tour is hosted by Faye Rogers, over at Authoright, I have found some new loves since participating in book tours. Today is no different as I am the third stop on Preceded by Chaos Blog Tour hosted by Faye, I am also sharing the blog book tour with Big Book Little Book and Carry on Beautiful so please check out their blogs to read what they thought.
Do you ever stop and think about the things you would love to achieve in your lifetime?
I know I’ve done it a few times now, of course, we all would like more from our lives, it’s definitely good to have these aspirations. From here, you can plan your life and set a path that you want to achieve, if you have dreams, you learn how to achieve these and makes you fight for them.
It can be hard, especially if you don’t know how to achieve them, but surely if you put your mind to it, you can do it! Find those people or opportunities that will make your dreams happen. It’s also handy to have goals over the course of a year, that will lead to you achieving.
Today I thought I would share with you, what I would love to achieve.

I’m not a very me, me, me person but I do feel that it’s good to get to know the person behind a blog. Recently, I’ve done a few different posts to introduce myself to you, including Things I Love About Motorsports and Things That Make Me Happy. April is turning into the month of getting to know me, Gemma Bray, the girl behind An Ocean Glimmer and today is no different!
At the beginning of this month, I came across An A-Z of Me from Zoe Jackson over at Just Zoe. I fell in love with this post as I found it interesting to pick just one thing that related to each of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Now, it seems like a semi-easy thing to do but I’ve got this feeling that when I actually get stuck in, it won’t be that easy… Like right now, I can’t think of anything for the last couple of letters.
Shall we get started with An A-Z of Me? Continue reading “An A-Z of An Ocean Glimmer!”
I’m sure it’s no surprise that I’m a massive motorsports fan! I’m always talking about it here as well as on Twitter, motorsports has always been a part of my life. From a very young age, my Dad introduced me to Formula 1. He would watch it each weekend and I would sit there with him, I didn’t have a clue of who was who or what was going on.
I continued to watch F1 growing up and before I realise, I knew about everything that was going on. I started to enjoy it more as well as finding the team and driver to support each race, then I started to enjoy other series and formulas, like DTM, Formula E and World Endurance Championship.
Well here we are, another month over, now it starts becoming fun with Spring finally here, I can’t wait for it to start warming up. I’ve had a great March, there’s been a lot going on and I’m glad to finally be doing things outside of work. Least with the weather getting better, I can! If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram, you’ll probably know about everything I’m going to show you below.
I’m really excited to share with you my favourites, this month has definitely been a lot more active than February was.
