An A-Z of An Ocean Glimmer!

I’m not a very me, me, me person but I do feel that it’s good to get to know the person behind a blog. Recently, I’ve done a few different posts to introduce myself to you, including Things I Love About Motorsports and Things That Make Me Happy. April is turning into the month of getting to know me, Gemma Bray, the girl behind An Ocean Glimmer and today is no different!

At the beginning of this month, I came across An A-Z of Me from Zoe Jackson over at Just Zoe. I fell in love with this post as I found it interesting to pick just one thing that related to each of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Now, it seems like a semi-easy thing to do but I’ve got this feeling that when I actually get stuck in, it won’t be that easy… Like right now, I can’t think of anything for the last couple of letters.

Shall we get started with An A-Z of MeContinue reading “An A-Z of An Ocean Glimmer!”

Keeping Memories with Printiki

I am a massive lover of taking photographs, it’s the perfect way to document your life, without it I think I would be lost as it’s lovely having photos to look back on the variety of things you’ve done. Unfortunately, we’re in a world now where I would say printed photos are started to die out, with our phones able to take photos, we are able to store them online. With this though, you always run the risk of losing these images.

I am not a massive fan of having a variety of frames dotted around with images, I prefer having single images stuck on my wall. In my old bedroom, I did have a mosaic of various images, but with moving I had to take all these down. Since moving to Aylesbury, I haven’t been able to decorate my room with photos, I just haven’t had the time to come up with something creative.

Blogmas Day 7 // First Impression: LUSH Cosmetics

I hope you are having a cracking first week of December, can you already believe it’s the seventh! I know I certainly can’t, as each day goes past, I’m definitely getting more excited about Christmas. Today I thought I would share my first thoughts on LUSH with you, I know what you’re probably thinking, where have you been Gemma!?

When I went to Plymouth for my graduation all the way back in October, I took a trip into LUSH to get my hands on some of their bath bombs. As I have never previously had a bathtub until now, bath bombs were pretty useless, but after trying the ones from Wilkinsons, I became pretty addicted!

Meaning I just had to pick some up, I am not new to venturing into LUSH, as I always would go in there with Corinne but never actually bought anything. I was like a kid in a sweet shop trying to decide which bath bombs I wanted to pick up and with Yasmine there, it made it even harder.

Do we go for a small collection of bath bombs? Do we pick up a cute gift set? There’s just so much to chose from.

Blogmas 2017 // Introduction

The countdown is most definitely on for Christmas, in 26 days we will be sat with our families opening our presents while eating a lot of food. This year Christmas is going to be special and a little different, as I am waking up in a new home and will have to travel to see my parents. As you know a lot has changed over the last four months, I moved from Plymouth to Aylesbury.

I finally found a full-time job! I also graduated from the University of St Mark & St John with a 2.1 in BA (Hons) Journalism. It’s definitely gone quickly and soon it will be a whole new year. If you were following An Ocean Glimmer around this time last year, you might just recognise the blog title. Yes, that’s right, it’s that time of year! It’s time to start Blogmas 2017.

I’ve finally Graduated!

You will all be pleased to know that I’ve finally graduated! After waiting since I finished back in May, I have finally graduated from the University of St Mark & St John. This was definitely a long time coming and I can’t believe I’ve made it. Of course, with me leaving four hours away, Yasmine and myself made a weekend out of it. This included seeing friends and family, exploring Plymouth and having some much-needed downtime.

My parents also came to Plymouth to see me graduate meaning it was a lovely to see them and spend some quality time with them. My graduation was held at the Plymouth Guildhall, right in the centre of Plymouth, it was nice to spend the day with my classmates who I haven’t seen since finishing. We were all happy to see one another and enjoyed dressing up to celebrate our graduation.

November Goals

Well here we go, it’s officially a new month which means I need to set out some goals for November. I have really enjoyed writing these posts as it pushes me to achieve each month, setting yourself goals is really good. This has helped me over the last couple of months and I really hope you are enjoying them. Before we get into my November Goals, I wanted to review my October Goals. It’s as good setting goals as reviewing them at each month.

After many months, I have finally graduated! I spoke about the day briefly in my October Favourites but I will be doing a full post soon. I have yet to read more than one book… Which is very disappointing as I thought I could do it this month! To hopefully achieve this, I will read a book rather than Twitter.

Book Review // The Forgotten Room

Before I get into this post, I would like to apologise for it not being my normal length! If you follow me on social media, you’ll know that I graduated yesterday from University of St Mark & St John. Things have been a little crazy, with travelling down to Plymouth and getting myself ready to graduate. Meaning I’ve not had any spare time to write this post until today, the day of my stop on The Forgotten Room Blog Tour hosted by Neverland Blog Tours. I’ve only managed to read a couple of chapters, so these are my thoughts from what I’ve read so far.

When I first came across this Blog Tour, I was very happy as The Forgotten Room is a little different to what I normally read but I was very intrigued by the synopsis. If you’ve been following An Ocean Glimmer for a while, you’ll know that I am a regular on the Blog Tour from Jenny Marston. I’ve wanted to read more books this year, and this has been a perfect way, for this Blog Tour, it is a Weekend Blitz. Meaning there are two days with sixteen different bloggers reviewing The Forgotten Room. This weekend is very exciting for us all, as we get sucked into the world that Ann Troup has created.
