Over the past couple of months, I have shared with you some interesting National Day that people across the United Kingdom celebrate. Today is no different as we’re celebrating Evaluate Your Life Day. Sometimes it is a good idea to think deeply about your life, at least once a year. Today invites you to calm down and deliberate about the choices you took and which way you will keep on going.
Of course, there are always questions and thoughts that disappear from the mind, if you do not take the time to think about those things, perhaps they’ll come to haunt you one day. Therefore it is better to lean back and confront the complicated questions of life on Evaluate Your Life Day. I love the thought of this National Day, as it is a great opportunity to figure out if you’re on the correct path.
Goodbye September! Hello October!
I’m really happy for October to be here as there are so many great things planned, I am pretty much busy each weekend. I thought October would start to slow down, oh how was I wrong. Autumn is here and it’s time to start getting festive, both for Halloween, my Birthday next month and finally, yes Christmas. I’ve had a really good September and have definitely felt good about myself.
Despite being really busy, thankfully I have been able to achieve quite a lot of my Goals. I have proved that if I put my mind to it, I can achieve, I have pushed myself and have been rewarded. I attended my last event at Silverstone this season as a Race Maker, visited Western Super Mare with my MG Rover family and work has been hectic as anything. I have shared my adventures in my Monthly Favourites // Septemer 2018 here.
Can you believe it’s October? Seriously where on earth is 2018 going, it’s officially Autumn, Halloween is just around the corner, it’s nearly my birthday and before you know it, Christmas is here. I hope you’re all having a great start to the month, October is one of my favourite months and I’m super excited for the upcoming month.
Before we go full steam ahead for October, let’s first review September. September was a great month, it’s definitely starting to slow down in the activities I am doing, it was quite hard to come up with a lengthy Favourites post like recent posts. I am really enjoying sharing my Favourites with you.
I’m not a very me, me, me person but I do feel that it’s good to get to know the person behind a blog. Recently, I’ve done a few different posts to introduce myself to you, including Things I Love About Motorsports and Things That Make Me Happy. April is turning into the month of getting to know me, Gemma Bray, the girl behind An Ocean Glimmer and today is no different!
At the beginning of this month, I came across An A-Z of Me from Zoe Jackson over at Just Zoe. I fell in love with this post as I found it interesting to pick just one thing that related to each of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Now, it seems like a semi-easy thing to do but I’ve got this feeling that when I actually get stuck in, it won’t be that easy… Like right now, I can’t think of anything for the last couple of letters.
Shall we get started with An A-Z of Me? Continue reading “An A-Z of An Ocean Glimmer!”
Well here we are, another month over, now it starts becoming fun with Spring finally here, I can’t wait for it to start warming up. I’ve had a great March, there’s been a lot going on and I’m glad to finally be doing things outside of work. Least with the weather getting better, I can! If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram, you’ll probably know about everything I’m going to show you below.
I’m really excited to share with you my favourites, this month has definitely been a lot more active than February was.
Missed my February Favourites? Head over here to see what I was loving
during the month.
It’s nearly the end of January, our first month of 2018 is nearly complete! It’s been a crazy month, as well as very busy, not only in my personal life but also at work, January is a horrible month having to pick up things after being off for Christmas. This is the first year I’ve experienced something like this as I’ve always worked in retail and a Christmas break doesn’t exist!
One thing I love doing at this time of year is plan out what I want to achieve, you could even call it complete. I know I do my Monthly Goals but those are more specific for each month, whereas these Goals I don’t actually know when I’ll complete them. I’ve never been one for setting New Year Resolutions, I feel Goals are much better, for me, they give more motivation to achieve them.
I hope you are having a cracking first week of December, can you already believe it’s the seventh! I know I certainly can’t, as each day goes past, I’m definitely getting more excited about Christmas. Today I thought I would share my first thoughts on LUSH with you, I know what you’re probably thinking, where have you been Gemma!?
When I went to Plymouth for my graduation all the way back in October, I took a trip into LUSH to get my hands on some of their bath bombs. As I have never previously had a bathtub until now, bath bombs were pretty useless, but after trying the ones from Wilkinsons, I became pretty addicted!
Meaning I just had to pick some up, I am not new to venturing into LUSH, as I always would go in there with Corinne but never actually bought anything. I was like a kid in a sweet shop trying to decide which bath bombs I wanted to pick up and with Yasmine there, it made it even harder.
Do we go for a small collection of bath bombs? Do we pick up a cute gift set? There’s just so much to chose from.

Here we are again! Today I am going to introduce to you November’s Reading Challenge, this month the Blogger Book Nook has been talking about all things Young Adult. This is definitely my favourite reading prompt so far with the Blogger Book Nook, as even though I’m no longer ‘classed’ as a young adult, I still have a long list of books to read in this genre.
Alongside answering the five questions each month, we also chat with one another on the Facebook page. Here we discuss the prompt during the month, including what we’ve been reading and our favourite authors. I love when Abbey adds a Question of the Day to the group because it definitely gets me thinking! It’s also nice to see if we like similar things.
You will all be pleased to know that I’ve finally graduated! After waiting since I finished back in May, I have finally graduated from the University of St Mark & St John. This was definitely a long time coming and I can’t believe I’ve made it. Of course, with me leaving four hours away, Yasmine and myself made a weekend out of it. This included seeing friends and family, exploring Plymouth and having some much-needed downtime.
My parents also came to Plymouth to see me graduate meaning it was a lovely to see them and spend some quality time with them. My graduation was held at the Plymouth Guildhall, right in the centre of Plymouth, it was nice to spend the day with my classmates who I haven’t seen since finishing. We were all happy to see one another and enjoyed dressing up to celebrate our graduation.
Receiving flowers from your loved ones is always a nice gesture, it’s becoming more and more popular to gift flowers. There are so many different places you can pick up fresh flowers, but the quality of bouquet is always different. I normally always purchase my flowers from the supermarket as I can see the quality of them before buying and they always last a good time.
In the past, I have had bad experiences with online flower companies, I purchased from one company and the quality of the flowers were awful for the price. My mum couldn’t believe it! She said never to buy from them again, so now I am very careful with who I buy from. So when I was approached 123 Flowers to collaborate I was a little unsure but I am very glad I accepted!
