30 Before 30

This year, I turn twenty-four, it only feels like yesterday that I turned twenty-one. Where on earth does the time go? Before I know it, I will be turning thirty… There are certain things we all want to do or even achieve in our lifetime. I’ve seen quite a lot of the things before I’m thirty posts being shared, I loved reading these as it sets down on paper what we want to achieve.

Today, I thought I would do one of these myself, what are the things I want to achieve? If we write it down, then at least we have something to put our mind to. This is exactly the same with my Monthly Goals and achieving my Goals. If you’ve shared or things about doing a similar post, please share with me down in the comments below! I will love to read your list.

Here are thirty things I want to do before I turn thirty.

An A-Z of An Ocean Glimmer!

I’m not a very me, me, me person but I do feel that it’s good to get to know the person behind a blog. Recently, I’ve done a few different posts to introduce myself to you, including Things I Love About Motorsports and Things That Make Me Happy. April is turning into the month of getting to know me, Gemma Bray, the girl behind An Ocean Glimmer and today is no different!

At the beginning of this month, I came across An A-Z of Me from Zoe Jackson over at Just Zoe. I fell in love with this post as I found it interesting to pick just one thing that related to each of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Now, it seems like a semi-easy thing to do but I’ve got this feeling that when I actually get stuck in, it won’t be that easy… Like right now, I can’t think of anything for the last couple of letters.

Shall we get started with An A-Z of MeContinue reading “An A-Z of An Ocean Glimmer!”

9 Things That Make Me Happy

Something that is good to do once in a while is think about the things that make you happy, it’s good to appreciate the things and people that are around you. I swear there isn’t enough self-love and thinking about the things around you, sometimes you don’t realise how much you love something until it’s gone.

Today I thought it would be nice to share what makes me happy, there’s a variety of things that if I didn’t have or were gone from my life, I would definitely miss!

2018 Blogging Goals

Last month, I shared with you my 2018 Goals, I love creating posts like this as for me it gives me motivation for the upcoming year. Here I planned out the things I would like to achieve, I try and keep these quite simple and actually made them achievable! Nothing worse than picking a goal and not being able to achieve it during your desired time frame. This post though is all about my 2018 Blogging Goals.

I’ve really upped my blogging game over the last few months and I’ve got everything crossed that I can achieve a lot in 2018 if I put my mind to it! I was going to include these goals in my 2018 Goals post, but I felt it was better to separate them, else the post would have been quite long and I’m not sure how many of you would actually read that much. I finished 2017 reasonably good, even with not being 100% focused on my blog.

I feel 2018 might just be a good year for An Ocean Glimmer, shall we get started with my 2018 Blogging Goals?

The Selfie Bag from Cotton Bag Co

We’re in a world now where photos are everything, they definitely say a thousand words, I’m sure we all love taking a good selfie. With the invention of the front facing camera, this is something that we are all able to do, as it’s much easier than trying to find someone to take the photo for you. There are companies out there that are trying to make taking selfies easier.

It’s great capturing your life, but you need to enjoy your time while there, meaning it’s great to put your camera/phone away and have it in a position where it’s easy to grab. I have found one product that does exactly this! The Selfie Bag created by Cotton Bag Co is a MUST for all photographers. On the outside, it looks like a normal bag but once you look inside, there’s a pocket for your selfie stick and a zipped pocket for your phone.

Let There Be Light Competition

Today’s post is a little different from usual, this is my entry for the Let There Be Light Competition, a blogger competition in partnership with Urban Cottage Industries. When I was contacted regarding this competition, I jumped at the opportunity as photography is definitely one of my favourite things! I love that Urban Cottage Industries is running this competition, as it’s a great idea for bloggers to get creative.

The entries will be judged by three different bloggers, Sian Lewis, Julia Hartbeck and Stacey Sheppard. This is the perfect opportunity to get creative and showcase your photography skills, of course, competitions mean prizes! There’s one winner for the Let There Be Light, you have the opportunity to win £500 worth of vouchers for photography equipment from Amazon. Don’t worry if you don’t get that top spot though, as five runner-ups will receive a personalised Moleskine notepad.

June 2017 – National Camera Day

For as long as I can remember, I have loved photography! I just adore picking up a camera and taking photos of everything. I suppose for the past five years, my photography skills have improved, as with my College and University courses, I have needed these skills as modules have been centered around images. Photography has become a passion of mine now.

As you’ll know I’ve been to a couple of motorsports races to take photographs. I have loved these opportunities and maybe one day it will become a day job for me. To continue my monthly feature on National Days, I thought it would be fitting to speak about National Camera Day. It’s pretty self-explanatory what National Camera Day is.
