5 steps to be more organised

It’s no secret I am an organised person. Over the years of being a blogger, I have shared a couple of tips with you, from keeping organised as a blogger to Get Organised month. I have joked with so many people that I should give them some of my organisational skills. They just love what I do and how I do it, it was always a running joke at the office. To me, I just feel normal, sometimes I don’t even feel like I’m being organised until someone mentions it to me.

Today’s post is no different! I have another 5 steps to be more organised in your day to day life.

I wasn’t seeking out a new planner for 2020, but I came across this one and I fell in love! As a stationery addict, I couldn’t say no.

I know, I know, before you say anything, yes I did purchase this in the Coronavirus pandemic but I still need a diary to understand what I’m doing! Also, this is more than just a planner, all will be revealed soon in this post. Now, before looking inside The Turquoise Classy Planner, I wanted to introduce you to Greta, the person behind The Classy Planner.

Stationery Haul // April 2019

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s I love stationery! Everything from notebooks and pens to planners and journals. Also, who could say no to pretty and cute stationery? I don’t show you my love enough here on An Ocean Glimmer, I’m going to try once in a while to create a stationery roundup, haul call it what you will. Maybe even once a month!

For today, I’m going to be sharing with you a small collection of stationery. Recently I entered a giveaway from Soffy | The Mum Affairs and I won! Of course, I couldn’t say no to entering a stationery giveaway, especially as there were some beautiful items. Before we get into what I received, I just wanted to thank Soffy for hosting the giveaway and the beautiful items.

January 2019 – Get Organised Month

January marks Get Organised Month, a month to reflect if you’re organised and if not, how to make yourself more organised. There are many ways of being organised, but some of us certainly have better organisational skills than others. A bit of organisation can make even the most chaotic of spaces relatively manageable.

Back in 2005, the Association of Professional Coordinators decided that they wanted to increase awareness of the significance of organisation. Studies show that individuals waste up to an hour every day on average, searching for things that they’ve misplaced. January is the ideal time for Get Organised Month since “change” is a popular New Year’s resolution.

As well as January just being a perfect month and to start the New Year off correctly. I have always been told I am a very organised person, for as long as I can remember I’ve been able to organise very well. It’s always a running joke at work! I always remember things that everyone else just forgets, I’ve even been called a uber-organisational superhero.

How I Juggle Blogging Whilst Working Full-Time

I have been blogging on and off for nearly two years, in this time I like to think I have learnt just a little when it comes to blogging but also how to juggle this while working. It’s not been until joining 4CM that you realise how much time blogging can take up, while in university, I could work around that but also had time on the weekend.

Now it’s only the weekend I designate my time to blog. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t come without its problems, but thanks to being quite organised, I’m able to do it! It can get even harder when I’m away at Silverstone or just super busy travelling. I thought today I would share how I manage this and hopefully if you’re struggling to give you some handy tips.

Keeping Organised as a Blogger

One very important life skill is knowing how to keep yourself organised, if you lack organisation, you’ll easily become overwhelmed and your work could start suffering. This skill is one of the most important things to blogging, whether you’re a new or aspiring blogger, keeping yourself organised can help you to keep track of everything. According to a lot of people that know me, I’m very organised!

I’m always being told I’m an organised person and they would kill to be organised themselves, I also get asked how I do it. I have always done this and found the correct ways to allow myself to be organised, I truly think without being organised I would be lost and wouldn’t know where to start and probably would forget things.

Since January, I have been at least four posts ahead of schedule, meaning over the weekend – when I have free time and I’m not working – I don’t have to blog because the posts have been written, photos taken and everything is scheduled! I love doing this as at the moment, my weekends are just a little busy, now this means I can have fun and don’t have to worry about An Ocean Glimmer.

Artemis & Xena February 2017

Subscription Boxes are becoming more popular amongst everyone, as no matter what your interests are, I guarantee there will be a box out there for you. As you know, I am subscribed to Infinity Crates, a crate filled with entertainment goodness. I love receiving this every month, as I never know what I’m going to receive until I open it up.

I came across a new Subscription Box, Artemis & Xena, I immediately fell in love as I love the concept of the box. Ani founded Artemis & Xena after struggling with her mental well-being as a teenager and during the first year of University. A change of thinking and lifestyle helped her to get through her difficulties, therefore she wants to help other women who may be facing difficulties too using what helped her.

Welcome to another edition of Planner Girls Collective. If you missed a previous edition, you can find them all here.

This week’s topic is What Couldn’t You Live Without. I love this topic as stationery is a massive help in my day to day life, so it’s not that hard to choose something. I am going to limit myself to only one item, my Paperchase Organiser, now I will admit, I have had this Organiser for nearly three years.
