Hello, there May!
I can not believe May is here, I am so excited for the upcoming month, especially with going home soon. Now is the perfect time to reflect on the previous month., I love doing this by sharing my Monthly Favourites with you! It’s time to reflect on what happened in April. It was actually quite a quiet month, even though it went past in a blur, but I’ve still got some good favourites to share with you today.
Missed my March Favourites? Head over here to see what I was loving
during the month.
🌸 Hello first day of Spring! 🌸
A pamper evening isn’t a relaxing one without a bubble bath and a face mask. I am coming late to the face mask party, it’s only recently that I’ve fallen in love. My last trip to Wilko was successful, I managed to grab a small selection of 7th Heaven Easy Peel Masks at just £1 each. I also have the Deep Cleansing Bubble Mask Blueberry from the Autumnal Box Swap with Samantha. J.
Today I thought I would share with you my face mask collection and what I’ve been loving recently. These are all a must addiction to make a perfect pamper evening. I’m amazed at the prices of these masks! It’s perfect for your pamper evening, you can get a lot for your money at £1 each. The Deep Cleansing Bubble Mask Blueberry from Primark is even less at 80p. I have heard good things about 7th Heaven, I’m very excited to try them all.

I recently got in touch with Samantha from always believe in a miracle suggesting we do an Autumn Box Swap! I’ve seen these posts floating around the blogosphere for a little while now and wanted to share it with Samantha. We’ve been friends for just over a year, we met online and have even met in Birmingham! I was so excited and couldn’t wait to get started.
Samantha shares a wonderful range of posts from beauty, lifestyle and travel as well as her journey through remission after being diagnosed with stage 2B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. She also writes about relevant topics as a blogger such as What is DA & How to Improve it. The perfect way to keep up to date with Samantha is by following her on Twitter. I also adore every photo of hers! They are absolutely gorgeous so why not head over to Instagram and give her a follow.
I adore checking out what’s inside people’s bag, in my time as a blogger I have never shared what’s in my own bag. I thought with the new season I should share something new! I always take a bag with me whenever I go out, whether that’s a small clutch bag or a backpack. I’m always changing up my bag but thankfully recently I’ve stuck with a leather backpack. Brown is normally not my colour but I fell in love.
I have found that it still goes with most of my outfits. It’s quite a small backpack but it fits everything perfectly and really, I don’t take that much out with me. A lot of the things I have within my bag, don’t really change season to season if I’m honest. I always try to keep myself prepared for anything, I try and have the essentials with me as you never know when you’ll need them!
Here’s what’s in my bag for autumn time.

I suppose if you’re like myself, you dream of saving but it’s actually a lot harder than you realise! You see a cute dress in Primark and you just HAVE to have it, it’s super adorable and would be perfect for work and it’s only £5. Do you stop to think, do I actually need this? I’m meant to be saving for a car, or a mortgage, even a holiday, I know that exact feeling and it’s definitely harder than people make it seem.
At the moment, myself and Yasmine are trying to save for a mortgage, but it’s not going so well. Life just seems to get in the way and you have to spend money, of course, you’ve got things like bills, rent and food. You have to still live while saving as well enjoying yourself if you’re struggling with saving, I’ve come up with some of my favourite tips that are actually helping myself to save that bit more each month.
I am a massive lover of taking photographs, it’s the perfect way to document your life, without it I think I would be lost as it’s lovely having photos to look back on the variety of things you’ve done. Unfortunately, we’re in a world now where I would say printed photos are started to die out, with our phones able to take photos, we are able to store them online. With this though, you always run the risk of losing these images.
I am not a massive fan of having a variety of frames dotted around with images, I prefer having single images stuck on my wall. In my old bedroom, I did have a mosaic of various images, but with moving I had to take all these down. Since moving to Aylesbury, I haven’t been able to decorate my room with photos, I just haven’t had the time to come up with something creative.

Etsy is one of those websites that you can find anything created by a very talented person, be it stickers for your journals, cute illustrations or even notebooks and other stationery. I adore shopping around all these different stores, they even make for some great presents for your loved ones. Recently I came across the Birdhouse Calligraphy after Louise was on the search for bloggers who adored handmade items. I always love promoting new stores so I jumped at the chance to collaborate with Louise.
After checking out her Etsy store, I fell in love with her work, it’s all so beautiful and even better than that, it’s all handmade by Louise! None of her work is digitalised, it is all handmade when she receives the order, which in my eyes is amazing! You’ll always know that you are receiving something that has been hand created by her own hands. Calligraphy is something that I’ve always loved! I would love to know how to do it and do it well at that, so I am even more impressed by what she does.
I’m sorry things haven’t been perfect on An Ocean Glimmer at the moment, I’ve just been a little preoccupied with moving to a different part of the United Kingdom. Some of you may know that I used to live in Plymouth, a city in the South West of England. I have lived here my whole life, I have ever only known one house, so it’s been a pretty big thing to move five hours.
As I was receiving offers for interviews around the London/Reading area, I thought it would be good to live with my Uncle in Aylesbury. This does mean though I won’t be living with my parents, sisters and the puppy dog, who I will miss dearly. This all means more differences in my life, something I’m needing to get used to. But it’s all a part of growing up, I’m really excited by this especially to experience it with the partner
I feel like I’ve finally settled in and things are looking bright for myself and Peter, who also moved from Plymouth to live with myself in Aylesbury. Which means a new chapter in our lives together, something that I’m hoping will go well. Seeing as I lived in Plymouth for 21 years, I thought I would sum up some of the things I would miss.
As some of you might know, I am addicted to stationery. I absolutely love picking up new items, especially adorable ones from Paperchase. Today, I thought I would share with you my Notebook collection, because let me tell you, there is just a few!
