For the past couple of years, I have been struggling with my acne, I haven’t been able to find anything that really helps! I tried the Tea Tree Skin Care range from The Body Shop but unfortunately, when I moved to Aylesbury nearly a year ago, it flared up again. Since then I’ve been on the search for something to calm down my skin and I think I’ve found something that’s slowly fixing it.
Recently, I was given a couple of samples from The Ordinary, I was a little sceptical about these products as I didn’t know how they would fair with my sensitive skin. When it comes to a skincare range, I have to be really careful and check the ingredient list. Before I share with you the products I have tried from The Ordinary that seem to be doing a really good job, I thought I would introduce the brand.
May is definitely turning into a good month! I’m excited to be sharing with you today my thoughts on The Development by Jackie Kabler. I’m trying my hardest to read at least one book each month, to reach my Goodreads Reading Challenge of fifteen books in 2018. This month is very strong for this as I’m participating in three different Blog Book Tour. First, I read The Planetsider, then I read SHINE, I planned these well seeing as it’s Get Caught Reading Month.
This blog book tour is hosted by Jenny Marston, over at Neverland Blog Tours, I have found some new loves since participating in book tours. Today is no different as I am the first stop on The Development Blog Tour hosted by Jenny, I am also sharing today with Oh Hay! Blogs and Everywhere & Nowhere so please check out their blogs to read what they thought.
With a new month here, it means it’s time to set some new Goals for the upcoming month. I love writing down my Goals each month as it really helps me to stay on target for my 2018 Personal and Blogging Goals. I’ve had a lovely April, you can find out what I’ve been loving here with my April Favourites. Here, I share with you what I’ve been up to as well as products I’ve been loving.
For today’s post though, it’s all about my Monthly Goals! I’ve had a really strong month, I have achieved a lot of different things, but are they the same as what I set out to achieve at the beginning of April. It’s good to also reflect on your previous Goals, this helps to see if you’ve been on target throughout the month and gives you an indication of where you need to go for the next month.
Before I set myself some new Goals for May, let’s reflect on my April Goals!

Can you believe it, it’s officially May! May is one of my favourite months as things start to pick up, there are different car events to attend and it’s starting to get warmer. I’ve had a great April, there’s been a lot going on and I’m glad to finally be doing things outside of work. Least with the weather getting better, I can! If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram, you’ll probably know about everything I’m going to show you below.
I’m really excited to share with you my favourites, there’s been a lot going on throughout April and I’ve enjoyed a lot of different products.

during the month.
It only feels like yesterday that it was January, now we’re starting May. Spring is definitely here and hopefully, it will stick around for a little while. I’m really enjoying sharing with you different National Day/Month, you get to learn something new and exciting. May marks Get Caught Reading Month, a nationwide campaign to promote the fun of reading books for all ages.
The campaign was launched in 1999 by the Association of American Publishers and now managed by Every Child a Reader with support from the Lois Lenski Covey Foundation. To celebrate Get Caught Reading Month is really easy you just need to dig your nose into a book and forget about the concerns of other peoples’ opinions. Get Caught Reading Month is a great chance to meet other bibliophiles as well!
If you are a regular visitor to An Ocean Glimmer, you’ll know just how much I adore reading! I’m not going to bore you too much because I am super excited to share with you the book that I’ve been reading this month. I really enjoy being a part of the Blog Tours hosted by Jenny Marston over at Neverland Blog Tours. Every month I am introduced to a different author and different book, that before hand I might have never wanted to try.
So far I have yet to come across an author I have previously reviewed. This month, I am the twenty-third stop on the Deadly Burial Blog Tour, a novel by Jon Richter. I am normally involved in one-week blog tours or something called a Weekend Blitz when it’s over the weekend, but never a two-week blog tour. This is very exciting for myself and all the other bloggers who are sharing the love for Jon Richter’s novel.
As most of you will know, I am a massive stationery fan! I have so much that I am never at a lost for notebooks, or anything stationery related for that matter. Recently I found out that today, Wednesday 26 April 2017 is World Stationery Day, I swear there is a National Day for anything and everything now a days. I jumped at the chances of celebrating this day as I am a stationery addict.
I am sure you are all thinking what exactly is World Stationery Day, what is the point of this celebration? Well, after some careful research on their website, I have learnt a lot about the day. It is a day of celebration for the written word and all things stationery. Their aim, to get people all over the world talking and writing about stationery as well as speaking about why writing by hand is important.
Recently I’ve become addicted to browsing around The Body Shop and looking at all their different products, they have soo much on offer for different people with all kinds of skin conditions. It’s stretched so far that even the partner has fallen in love with their Body Butter and is always smelling of a different fruit!
I thought I would share with you today why exactly I love The Body Shop, so without further ado let’s begin.
Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to watch Danza Contemporánea de Cuba presented by Dance Consortium at the Theatre Royal Plymouth. This opportunity was made possible because I am on the Bloggers Scheme at the Theatre, if you don’t know what this scheme is about, read my short announcement for it here.
We were in for a treat as before the show, we had a Q&A with three of the performers, Laura Rios Curbelo, Claudia Rodriguez Pozo and Norge Cedeño Raffo. It was lovely to meet them, as we got to ask them some interesting questions to know more about them and what they do with Dance Consortium. Danza Contemporánea de Cuba was founded in 1959, they have become the nation’s flagship contemporary dance troupe.
Since Beauty Kitchen opened a concession store inside the Holland & Barrett More in Plymouth, I have been loving all their beauty products, especially as all their products are 100% natural. Over the Christmas Break, Georgina Minter-Brown hosted a competition on her Twitter where you could win one Christmas gift.
I was one of the lucky winners and I chose the Create Your Own Lip Balms from Beauty Kitchen. When I received it in the post, I was jumping for joy! I couldn’t wait to create the Lip Balms, I’ve been very busy since receiving it, so I’ve only just been able to make them. I will admit, they were a lot easier to make than I thought!
