Today is very special, nearly a month ago I found out that the lovely Lucy from Sparkle of Lucy tagged me in The Unique Blogger Award, how very exciting! I’ve only recently started following Lucy but I have fallen in love with her blog, she started Sparkle of Lucy just over a year ago now. I can not believe I haven’t come across her blog sooner to be honest.
I adore reading her blog there’s always something different and exciting to read. I am very proud of everything she has achieved, especially hitting 200 followers on WordPress only two weeks after hitting 100! I would love for you to go share some love to her, not only on her blog but also her Twitter, where she is really close to hitting 2.5k followers.
Before I can start answering the questions from Lucy, I thought I would just explain the rules of this award. Just like other awards, there are certain things you have to do when you’ve been nominated for the Unique Blogger Award. These things are;
- Share the link of the blogger who has nominated you.
- Answer the questions.
- Nominate 8-13 people for the same award.
- Ask them 5 questions.
1) What do you like the most about blogging?
I love the community, despite some of the argunments that occassional go on, the community is the greatest. Everyone is soo lovely and very supportive! I’ve met some amazing people, some I would even call friends.
2) What blog posts draw your attention the most?
Hmm, let me think. I suppose I love a good tag, anything that helps me get to know a blogger that little bit more! Especially on a personal level. I am also a massive sucker for homeware hauls AND stationery hauls! I might just be a little addicted to homeware items and stationery…
3) Who inspired you to blog?
For inspiration I suppose it would be my friend from university as she had her own blog, I would always see what she was up to. Taking photos and writing posts, from here I thought maybe blogging is fun and interesting, this is where An Ocean Glimmer was born!
4) What do you want to get out of blogging?
Of course most bloggers would say to be able to have blogging as their full-time job, for me though I don’t see myself progressing that far. I want to receive that good feeling every time that my writing has made someone feel that little bit happier about themselves and I’ve made a difference through my work. As well as getting to the point of being creditable with brands.
5) Advice for new bloggers?
There’s soo much I wished I had known before starting, you should definitely push yourself in the blogger community. There is more than enough space for new bloggers so don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, we are all different. Follow blogger retweet pages on Twitter and get involved in their Twitter chats. You get to know a lot of bloggers this way, I would recommend checking out Influencer RT and GRLPOWER CHAT.
Now for my nominations;
Now for my five questions;
1) What is one thing that you have learnt while blogging?
2) What is your most favourite blogging memory?
3) Who do you admire in the blogosphere?
4) Other than blogging, what do you love doing in your spare time?
5) Where would you love to travel to in the world and why?
I hope you guys have enjoyed this post! I would love to say another massive thank-youu to Lucy again for nominating me for the Unique Blogger Award. Definitely go over to Sparkle of Lucy and show her some love, I’m sure you’ll love her blog just as much as I do.

Wow, Lucy really is doing amazing! Hitting all the milestones, good for her! Homeware hauls and stationery definitely draw me in as well, seeing what my blogger friends have been buying is such a motivator for me to hit the shops hehe! I feel similar to you in that becoming a full time blogger isn’t really an ambition of mine, I just want to keep enjoying it, meeting new people, and keep getting creative! Fab post, thanks for sharing!

Agreed about the community! It’s amazing at how much everyone can be supportive, yes it’s a shame when it gets ruined by a select few but the majority outweigh the minority xx
