Blogmas Day 1 // November Favourites

Here we go, it’s Friday 1 December meaning the first day of Blogmas! I am really excited to start and I hope you enjoy it this month. Right, to kick off Blogmas, I am going to share with you my November Favourites. If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know I’ve been pretty busy this month, there’s been a lot going and it’s all a little different.

First up, at the beginning of November, I attended Advanced Engineering at the NEC, Birmingham. This show was very much different to something that I would normally attend, the reason for me attending, well 4CM was an exhibitor and I was lucky enough to attend. I was very nervous as I had only been with the company for less than a month.

It was definitely a good experience for me and I had the opportunity to meet some of our current clients. It was lovely chatting with them and it was definitely fun to get to know the company a little bit more. The only bad thing, it was such a long day! I had to be there for half eight and I live two hours away.

As you know, I am a Silverstone Racemaker, for a gesture of goodwill, we were gifted some tickets for the Silverstone Fireworks & Stunt Show. With me only living 45 minutes away, I definitely thought it would be good to go! I am really glad we did, even though it was really cold. Of course, this show was to celebrate Bonfire Night.

Normally I don’t do very much, it’s either watch the fireworks from the window or set off our own display. I haven’t watched a professional show in a while, I loved the aspect of the stunts from different drivers. It added a different touch to the show and for my first time, I definitely loved it! I would love to go again.

Dare to be Different, the initiative created by Susie Wolff with the Motor Sports Association. I joined up with this community at the end of September but November marked my first event as a member. I was a little nervous at first to attend, as I didn’t know anyone going but I thought, I need to and it would be a good experience for me.

I’m most definitely glad I did as I was able to meet a friend I’ve been chatting to online as well as meeting Susie Wolff. I am a nervous person when it comes to going to things by myself, my feelings have definitely stopped me a lot of times but I didn’t want this to be another occasion. You can read more about my time at the Community Connect Event here.

Yasmine is crazy about trains when I first met her she had her own train board in her room, after a little while though, they got push up to the attic. Her love for trains has not disappeared, we are always visiting South Devon Railway Station whenever we visit her grandparents. One of the first questions we had when we moved to Aylesbury, was where’s the nearest train station.

We’re actually quite lucky here as we have two train stations, Buckingham and Didcot Railway Station. A couple of weekends ago we went to Didcot Railway, the big kid in Yasmine definitely showed. I didn’t understand very much but it was nice to have a day with her, the only bad thing, the weather… It was horrible, very fine rain and cold.

Well, this is definitely a long time coming! I’ve finally got my hands on Assassin’s Creed: Origins. Must be for the last five years now, I’ve received this game for my birthday from my parents. The game came out over a month ago, so I’m definitely been waiting forever for it! I have absolutely been loving it and it’s been a very addicting game.

They definitely have some great locations, the one thing that makes the games for me, each game goes to different locations in the world. I’ve definitely learnt a lot from the games, I think even more than my history lessons. If you would love to read a review of Assassin’s Creed: Origins, I’ll definitely love to do that!

My final favourite for November would be Williams, a documentary about Frank Williams and his Formula 1 team Williams Martini Racing. I have always loved motorsports documentaries, especially ones about Formula 1. When I saw it on Netflix, I jumped at the chance to watch it.

It was lovely to hear all about the life of Frank and the Williams family, Williams Martini Racing are one of my favourite teams of the Formula 1 grid. It’s always lovely to hear about how teams start and their history, I was hooked from the very first minute and I could not take my eyes off the screen watching it.

I hope you have loved my November Favourites! The year is going so fast and now there’s only one month left, I can not believe that. Day 1 of Blogmas is now complete.
